My motivation is to be good to myself. Listening to my body to learn how it wants to move and feeding my body what it needs for healthy fuel is my way of treating myself with compassion. That's something I can do everyday.

My motivation is to get healthier, to become the best 'me' that I can be. Not only to make me feel better, but the doctors told me that if I didn't get some weight off, I would die. Good motivation, I am thinking. but also to get off my keister and get back to living. I want to go walking in the park with my husband; I want to go to the grocery store and do my own shopping with out people feeling they have to tag along. Now, I have to take my walker or in the case of going grocery shopping, I hang onto the grocery cart or the cart in Walmart.
I want to live, and live fully.
I have dispersed numerous Smileys this week....I quit counting after awhile.
(does this one count as a smiley? *grin*
Joan Arkansas -- Central Time Zone "To be "heart healthy' focus on the positive; it's persistence rather than perfection that will create progress."
The difference between success and failure is the effort we put into getting there.
My motivation is to make things easier for dh back. He has had back surgery and sometimes helping me get around is hard on his back. Also, we are both trying to get as healthy as we can for the rest of our lives!
I have 2 small challenges for you this week. You can chose to do either or both.
1 – What motivates you? We all have our own motivation for travelling this journey – and its that motivation that helps us stay on the journey when things get tough!! My motivation is two fold – firstly my health – by losing weight I am getting far healthier, controlling blood sugar levels, gaining strength and far more. And secondly – to prove that it can be done when, in my case, more specialists than I can count have told me that I will never lose weight, that I will never walk, or stand for more than a couple of minutes – I now walk for 15mins and do a double circuit at Curves, as well as having lost a fair bit of weight!!
2 – Spread some smiles – join the SMILE EPIDEMIC!! Smiles are catching, they show support and friendship and can change a person’s mood – go round the Sparkpeople site and leave some smiles. Either do this with a “Happy Face “goodie or by leaving some “smile” emoticons on a message. Smiles can be great face exercise too!!
