I dropped a size in 6 weeks and made my personal challenge! Now I'll take it easy for a few weeks before setting another goal. Good luck to all working toward your personal challenges.

BARBIE176, thank you for the kind words! So sorry to hear about your husband! I will pray for a quick recovery for him & strength for you! Sounds like you have a good positive attitude, that alone can be enough to keep us going forward! Maybe this can be a good opportunity to learn how to keep on track through tough times. You can learn how to eat healthy & still exercise when life gets in the way!!! Look at this as another challenge in life that you WILL conquer!! I too got out of my routine this past week, I was running a fever & down for awhile, then camping this weekend, completely off my way of doing things. So I am starting over with week 3 today & moving forward. I always come across some type of obstacle when I get on a roll of doing good! This time is different tho, I am not letting it get me down because I know I am finally on the right track to changing my life!! So look out week 3 here I come!!!

my personal challenge is to get slim by March 2011 and I'm doing the 25+ week kick start challenge with everyone here. It is making a difference already as its motivating me to put more effort into exercise, doing weight strength training now which I haven't done in years. We lose muscle when we are losing weight so its good to spend 10-20 mins doing dumbbells and situps etc. Amazed already at the results, very quick improvement in just a few days!!

Downday sounds like you are making awesome progress. I had been doing well for the first 3 weeks of the month then my hubby was in the hospital all week and I was in a hotel so things kind of went by the wayside even though I don't think I did too bad. We got home last night and I was a little tired and worn out today, but I am restarting this week tomorrow and planning to get back on track.
I totally agree with you that we should be happy with every little lifestyle change. Even though I was not able to keep up with them this week in total I did try to make wise choices and tried to fit in some walking even though I didn't do my normal strength training or as much cardio as normal I did try to do some.
Since my hubby will be pretty much of an invalid for 6 weeks or more and that will mean I have to do so many more things in addition to working full time, I still think I deserve the time for myself and he agrees so I am hoping I can more or less keep up with the motivation I had going!
Here's wishing everyone a super successful day, week and life!
Hugs, Barbie

Hello fellow Sparkers! I am working through week 2. Proud of myself, I have met my goals for week 1 & am so far doing good with week 2. My weekend begins on Thurs. every week & this week my husband & I took Mon. off. So with an extra long weekend, I need extra motivation! I have lost 2 pnds. this past week.
I am working hard on portion control & adding more fruits & vege's to my diet. Learning to pay closer attention to what & how much I eat! For the first time I am going into the weekend still caring about my nutrition habits! First for me!
Working on getting back to my workouts, if I don't get time to do my normal 30-60 mns, I do 10 & am very proud of myself for it!
Be happy for every little effort you put into your lifestyle change, so you don't get discouraged! I'm learning that it's the little daily steps that are most important!
I'm here for you all, we can do this together!!! For the first time in my life, I feel like I can actually accomplish whatever I set out to do, just like anyone else!

I did my halfway-point measurements and weigh-in yesterday - and I'm down 1/2" on waist (yay!) and chest (boo!). Hips stayed the same, but I went closet shopping anyway. Some of the size down fit, some didn't. But I'm on the right track, I think I can do it!

I like your goal, 4 pounds seem very realistic, I thought I could lose 10 but I better keep it real... my challenge will be to lose one pound a week

My challenge is to lose 4 lbs in Sept. That's a pound a week.

My personal challenge right now is to drop a size in 6 weeks! I'm almost halfway through - I do measurements and an official weigh-in this coming Sunday. If I've lost 1/2" from waist and hips since last measurement, I'll "go shopping" in my closet to see if I can fit some of the clothes I've been unable to wear. Wish me luck!

I am motivated to lose weight for our trip to Hawaii next September. Want to be able to get out and enjoy the trip without feeling like a slug. Have about 40 lbs. to lose and am feeling positive I can do it.

You can say what your own challenge is here and let everyone know when you completed yours!
Its good to have determination and reach for your goals and feels awesome when you see them happen!
Have you found your SPARK?
Is it being lighter for Christmas/New Year?? Getting a job/ lowering cholestrol/dropping two dress sizes/ Running with the kids?
write your own personal goals and challenges whether it be exercise, losing weight for an event or anything really!
