I am happy that I didn't eat a bunch of junk for graduation dinner and I avoided my Mom's candy dish. Now I have to face 'Eclair Cake'...just a tiny peice...it will be one of the last meals I have with my folks for a while.

I finally discovered the beauty of cooking large batches of food! I made a ton of food on Sunday. I froze some and threw some in the fridge and I still haven't cooked since then! And there's still enough to get us through until Friday! Everyone talks about it, but I had to figure it out for myself.

Started the day yesterday with PB&J on toast, which has a whole lot more calories than my normal egg white scramble. But I adjusted through the day and still came out alright.

But this morning, it's back to the egg whites.

A good day overall, but did manage to work in some tortilla chips. I'm learning to love chunky salsa, and that's new for me. And since it's pretty low calorie, it totally beats the cheese or ranch dips.

Wednesday at sundown was Rosh Hashannah, so for that meal, the diet went right out the window. We had dinner with the only other Jewish family within 80 miles, and they are very good friends, and only three miles away. We had roast Turkey that was just killed that morning, candied yams, babka, (think Jewish Bakalava), and apple slices dipped in a honey that is so natrully dark that it looks like Molasses.
That is only once a year, and by the time the week is out, I will be good for the week, as far as calories eaten, and calories burned. Brie

Feels like the movie "Groundhog Day" for me. Today, yesterday and the day before, all pretty much the same foodwise. But it feels fine. I'm full throughout the day, craving fresh fruit, and right where I want to be calorie-wise.

Today's food victory was not giving in to the easy temptation of a junk food breakfast. I was already out, driving home from a BBQ/movie night up in Fallbrook last night. I decided, "nope, not going to do it... keep driving until you get home and make an egg white scramble."

And I did. And I'm feeling good right now instead of the "yuck, why did I eat that?!" regrets.

Food victory? Today's was NOT giving in to the temptation of pizza. In the mood I was in, a single piece wouldn't have been enough. A whole pizza would have barely been enough. So I just didn't start.

I love eggs for breakfast. But a few eggs with the yolks can be calorie heavy. These days, I scramble the eggs up using one egg and 3-4 egg whites. I add Bacon Salt (love that!) and some fresh cut up red onions, and I have a filling breakfast with very few calories.
