“There's a difference between interest and commitment. When you're interested in doing something, you do it only when it's convenient. When you're committed to something, you accept no excuses; only results.”

When you get to a plateau, think of it as a landing on the stairway to your goal. And maintenance is a lifelong plateau, so a bit of "rehearsal" for maintenance isn't the worst thing in the world

Mowed the front lawn & deep cleaned for about 1.5 hours. Time to give my allergies a rest.

Haven't danced yet, but I did get some toe touches & sit-ups in this last week. That is a big improvement for me.

I really like dancing to the radio. Have since I was quite little. Think I might have to make it where I can't play computer games until I get 10 minutes of dancing done.

In TN this last weekend in March, we are having scattered showers, at times some high winds, cool to cold temperatures & cloudy weather. On top of that, there is more than enough pollen and other allergens floating around to make it difficult for those of us with allergies to spend much time outside. This is definitely not the kind of weather I want to get out and exercise in.

With spring well announcing itself in some parts of the northern hemisphere & winter not quite seeming to be over in other parts, what are some ways that you exercise when the outside weather is not cooperating with your fitness plans?

Each week, take at least one day to practice an activity that does not depend on the weather outside. Share your ideas and experiences with us, so that we may build off each other’s success.

Amanda, RN
