LADYBUG-DR, sorry to hear about your fall. Hope you are feeling better soon. Way to go on the 25K steps!!! I've been wearing a pedometer for at least 10 years and have worked my way up to doing 15K steps. I don't always get there but most days it is fairly easy and will probably improve once the weather warms up.

MSDELISLE - 15,000 a day! That's awesome! You Go!

I'd like to try for 100,000 steps in a week, that would be about 14,300 steps a day.
However, I don't think I can do it this week as I slipped on the ice on Sunday and injured my backend - possibly cracked my tailbone so I'm taking it easy this week.
Excited to report that I did 25,000 steps on Saturday!! .....before slipping on the ice.
emoticon

WOW! I really regret that workout

After achieving the basic 5000 on default, I've upped the ante to 7,500 steps per day. I'm a desk jockey so I do not have a lot of physical activity from 7am to 5pm...so this is somewhat of a challenge (during the workweek, I'm an "overachiever" on the weekends emoticon )

so here goes week 1:
2/3 - 7902 steps/2761 cal burned
2/4 - 7798 steps/2617 cal burned

My goal is to have more than 11000 steps per day. It was 10000 but I need to start planning ahead for that 1 day a week I tend to be super lazy!! I will jog at least 2days and hopefully hike 1day. I MUST keep a better eye on calories.

Hi Everyone,

Good Luck with all of your goals this week!! I just received my Fitbit on Thurs. I am loving it so far!! I have been more apt to take the stairs to at least reach my 10 stairs climbed daily and trying to keep my 10,000 steps a day. I am falling short today due to so much going on but I will make up the steps during the week.

So, this week, my goals are to complete the 10,000 steps and 10 flights of stairs. I am also going to try to come in at an extra 200 less calories at the end if the day.

I'm sticking with 8,000 steps a day for now and will continue to try to get the majority of them before I get home from work.

02/03: 8,532
02/04: 8,652
02/05: 8,691
02/06: 9,265
02/07: 8,694
02/08: 8,678
02/09: 8,971

What I learned this week:
"It's all in my head." I hate that! But now I know what I need to do to work around it. Last week, I had set my official goal to 8,500 steps/day, both here and on the FB site. In the evening, I would check my steps on my FB and see how far away I was. For some reason, that extra 500 steps messed with my head and made me feel like 'y' number of steps ('x' + 500) was just too many to get, I was tired, blah blah blah. So I didn't. I think I missed my goal more than I made my goal last week.

This week, I reset my official goal here and on FB back to 8,000 (a nice, even number), but ONLY IN MY HEAD, I made my goal 8,500. Because, after all, it was JUST 500 more steps once I hit my official daily goal. And 500 is easy, right? Right! And I did it.

So in order to accommodate my own mixed-up mental processes, I'm going to have to have an official goal on a nice, even number and an unofficial just-in-my-head goal that is slightly higher. Eventually, once I am consistently making 8,500 steps/day, I hope to actually make my official goal 9,000. Because it's just 500 more steps a day than I'm already doing anyway. Right? Right!

::smh::

I am trying to determine my goals since breaking my toe on Friday! I'm thinking a daily goal of 7,000 is going to be all I can manage until I am allowed to be on my feet more! Feels odd to be trying to take fewer steps, but I have to allow myself time to heal!

I am going to keep my daily goal to 23,500 steps per day and keep my weekly goal to 170,000. I will also be tracking my daily active score (trying to keep it above 1000 each day). I will be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many steps in my travel I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

I love all the activity on this thread! Welcome to each and every one of you and I hope that accomplish your goals this week.

I continue to be overwhelmed by the response from the SP community when it was announced that the FB site would be syncing with the SP site. As of the posting of this post, we are now at 7,640 members strong! Wow, that is 404 more than last week! Welcome to all of our new team members and thank you for joining our weekly steps goal!!!

-Thanks again for joining this goal! This upcoming week ends with Super Bowl Sunday which is probably the biggest snack day of the year so it is imperative to move in order to accommodate those extra calories. So please remember to get in some extra steps on that day. Good luck in achieving them this week! Who will join me!!!

02/03: 26,585 (VAM: 0-Active Score: 822-Floors: 0)
02/04: 26,881 (VAM: 72-Active Score: 1234-Floors: 26)
02/05: 25,908 (VAM: 38-Active Score: 1058-Floors: 7)
02/06: 26,663 (VAM: 51-Active Score: 1130-Floors: 6)
02/07: 27,456 (VAM: 45-Active Score: 1129-Floors: 6)
02/08: 30,447 (VAM: 7-Active Score: 1075-Floors: 7)
02/09: 27,185 (VAM: 85-Active Score: 1586-Floors: 26)

Alright, another week in the books and here is how I did. 191,125 total steps for an average of over 27,300 steps per day. My total VAMs for this past week were 298 for an average of 42 per day. My average Active Score for this past week was 1147 and I climbed a total of 78 floors. Nice if I do say so myself! How was your week? Did you meet your goals? Did you get up and move? Won't you please join me in next week's goal challenge? I sure hope you do!
