Right now I'm going to go with the 70,000 that is the default on the fitbit website. But I'm finding in the week I've had it that it's inspiring me to do more than I had been, so in a week or two I might revise that as I've already exceeded that this week.

I revised my earlier post to start from the 6th instead of the 4th. And updated today's steps as of 5 pm. Will get a few more in today but not a whole lot. But I did a lot already today.

changed my goal to 7500 steps a day. Seems more doable for me. I want to work up to 10,00 but I think it will take me awhile to develop the consistency. I am trying for 10 flights of stairs a day. yesterday was a bust but I'm back on track today.

I can do all things through Jesus who strengthens me.

I just got the Fit Bit Zip for Christmas, and I'm trying to remember to wear it every day! I felt like I walked a ton yesterday, but when I checked it last night I was shocked that I was only at a little below 7,000 steps! Granted, I forgot to put it on before my run, but wow, 10k is definitely going to be some work.

Hmm. . . I want to set some goals but haven't had time to think about it. I'll need to figure out how to walk more to get 10,000 steps. One thing the FitBit has made me realize is how sedentary my life is and I'm going to have to be creative to get moving!!! I'm going to think on this one today.

I'm keeping my goal at 8,000 steps a day, and I'm going to try to get the majority of them before I get home from work.

What I learned this week: Wow, it's really easy to get sucked in to sitting for long stretches at work! I need to try harder to at least get up and pace behind my desk occasionally when I'm tied to answering the telephone. I also switched to sitting on an exercise ball instead of my desk chair, and that seemed to help me remember to move more, too, even if it was just wiggling around and shifting my weight and engaging different core muscles. Something else I started doing that I really enjoy is parking further away from the entrance to the building. Yes, I know it's cliche but I haven't been doing it at work. This past Monday I was forced to search for parking and at first I was grouchy and then I realized, STEPS! so I started parking much further away from my building. It was a nice boost not only to my step count, but also to my mental state coming in to work and leaving work.

I am going to keep my daily goal to 23,500 steps per day and keep my weekly goal to 170,000. I will also be tracking my daily active score (trying to keep it above 1000 each day). I will be tracking my floors climbed but as I don't really encounter many steps in my travel I will be interested in seeing how high I can get this number on a daily basis. Keep moving people, I know I will! DON'T GIVE UP!!!

I continue to be overwhelmed by the response from the SP community when it was announced that the FB site would be syncing with the SP site. As of the posting of this post, we are now at 5,800 members strong! Wow, that is 900 more than last week. Welcome to all of our new team members and thank you for joining our weekly steps goal!!!
