How about just getting McDonald's ice cream cone - it's only 150 calories.

Almost every night, I have just a half a cup of Bryer's low fat ice cream at 90 calories (or 2 WW points). Lost weight just fine.

1/2 cup is satisfying in a pretty ice cream fluted like dish with a small spoon and eaten slow.

Sometimes, less is more...you may be satisfied with a Kiddie Kone if you tell yourself, THIS IS IT! Only in America have we come to believe we need a kitchen sink sized bowl! Every other country serves way smaller portions. HUMANS don't need large sizes.... Freedom's downfall.

Cool! That was the purpose of the post.

How about 2 kiddie cones, or even 3? That's still less than the sundae.

Glad,

Your posted prompted to check out what I though was a low calorie alternative. Truth is that both your examples have fewer calories than my choice.

Can't get myself to do the kiddie cone (only 45 calories) but may try just the ice cream at only 150. The problem is that it is only half the size of the sundae.

Decisions, decisions....

I believe if you get the kiddie kone that will be definitely less in calories.

Don't let yogurt versus ice cream fool you, either. I recently found out that the moose tracks frozen yogurt I was eating was 150 calories for 1/2 cup serving, but Breyers Low Fat Ice Cream is 110 calories and with less fat! I posted the details in the Challenges forum if you are interested.

My son and I usually stop at McDonald's for an ice cream sundae after one of my runs that is near a McDonald's. He rides bike along side.

I have been told that McDonald's ice cream is actually low fat/low calorie yogurt, not ice cream. This allowed me to believe this was like a freebee calorie wise and a nice, small reward - wrong!

McDonalds Hot Fudge Sundae
6.3 oz - (179 g) 330 calories
Peanuts (for Sundaes)0.3 oz (7 g) 45 calories
Total 375 calories!

I checked other on-line sites for ice cream sundae calories and learned that ounce for ounce this is pretty average. We'll continue to do the run followed by ice cream but now I know.
