Planning on tracking everyday till friday. It's going to be awesome!

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Don't worry. My weight is at an all time low too. Been that way for a year, hovering right at the 200 pound mark. Keep on going!!!

I'm slowly acknowledging that tracking is important! Today was my free day, which means the rest of the week I have to track (I was in the middle of the ocean, and people were feeding me things---).

Anyway, I'll let you know how it goes this week!

After tracking religiously for months I have all but stopped for the last 3 weeks (since school is back in session) While I haven't gained, I haven't lost either. I think a nutrition tracking challenge along with cardio tracking challenge would be great. I have slacked in that area as well.

Lost 1 1/2 inches off my hips but gained 1/2 inch on my waist (well, what I like to think of as my waist).
But I feel better and that counts for a lot the way I see it. Believe my exercise minutes are up some and my body feels like it's trying harder. Also, lost 2 pounds in spite of the holidays.

Autumn is over and Winter is here with a vengence!
The challenge is over and my stats are in: Total inches gained 2. All on the hips. I didn't manage to lose any, but I believe it could have been much, much worse if not for this challenge. I started with an injury, had the most stressful teaching experience in 14 years during the month of October and ended with the fiestas de Navidad and all the goodies that came with it. I am really interested in how everyone else has done during this 3 month challenge.
Asherah, Firestar,Pennyan, Maha, Clairmzm, Corpusannie & Deb?
Thanks for joining and for keeping it up! emoticon Get ready for our 2011 Winter challenge beginning Jan first. I hope I'll see each of you there. We'll be counting our cardio/strength training hours. Look for your Spark Mail invite for more details.

Mostly walking this week along with some yoga. More minutes but less intensity, I'm afraid. Really need to get away from this perpetual dampness; it's creeping into my bones! Stretching helps. Maybe I need to start going to the Y again?

As for me, the last 2 weeks were busier than I expected and I did not get in as much exercise as I had hoped. Things have slowed down some so I am planning on being more active this week

Stress again at work is making this a little difficult.
Without proper rest, the energy just isn't there. But I am pretty stubborn and sticking to my workout routines as closely as possible.
Dec 1st I will be having more me time as my DD and #1 grandson are moving upstairs to their own apartment.
Now I will see how much I've been using that situation as a distraction from what I want to accomplish.

I can't believe its already middle of November already and time for a WI. My WI showed a gain which was not unexpected. I always gain a few pounds when I return with the different foods, activity level etc. Hopefully I can curb that gain soon enough. So I am being active--cardio and at least a couple days of ST. Congratulations to you all! Great success! I am with Pennyan,,,the scale has gone up in this challenge 5 pounds. I thought not doing cardio for over a month didn't hurt me, but it sure did,,,It just took awhile for it to show up on the scale. Back to cardio & logging my food TODAY!

Cathy, I agree with Maha!! Congratulations to you!!

As for me -- I'm afraid I have been AWOL since Halloween.
My scale has moved in the WRONG direction for a couple of pounds.

I am back to tracking and walking again. My desire is to be back where I was earlier in October.

OK...I'll see if I can build up some momentum again. Lost it all and then some during my San Francisco trip. Weight this morning 143, up a lb. since my last weigh-in.

I've been riding my Trek since my return, but that's it. Tomorrow I hope to begin strength training again. I *intend* to post again on my SP and summarize here at the end of the week.

That's all I'm sayin'....

Feeling achy this week.Lost about 1.5 pounds in the last 2 weeks. Can't take any naproxen with the levaquin I've been using last 5 days, but know I'll feel stronger soon. Stronger for me means more intense exercise and more progress toning this flabby body.

Congratulations! I have been really bad. Haven't exercised in a week, bad diet. Once I get back home I will start swimming.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

Hi fellow challengers: I have not been good at posting the last few weeks. Things have been really hectic and erratic. So I am posting my sept results really really late. I lost 3 lbs in sept bringing me to 158.4

Hope to be more consistent with posting.

Hi my friends,

I have lost one pound. I have not taken any current measurement, but will do that at the end of this month.

Things will be going slower for me now that I am getting closer to my goal weight. So I am happy about that one pound down.

Wishing you all a GREAT SPARKLING week ahead!

Hugs,

PennyAn

YES. GOOD JOB. We never give up taking care of ourselves. I had posted a two pund loss for september after NO cardio or strength training (injuries). If it wasn't for taking care of the old horses I would have gotton no exercise at all in september. I weighed myself again today and I am back up so that must have been a fluke. I knew it was too good to be true. I'm back on my bike and rode Zeus for an hour yesterday. Let's see what we can do in October. emoticon + emoticon = emoticon

YAY YOUSE LOSERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I weighed in the day after posting my week's activity...at Francesca's suggestion, since we're in a new month. WELLLLLL...I was so deflated that I didn't post it. nor have I weighed since. I was UP FOUR POUNDS to 142. AND I was too "funked out" and embarrassed to fess up. But I'm able to share it now.

Now grant you, although I've become fairly regular in aerobic activity (about an hour's brisk bike ride several days a week and 25-minutes every-other day of strength training) I've also been heaping the food...in other words nothing resembling portion control...healthy stuff, but too much of it.

I had intended to weigh in the next day to see if it was a fluke, but I haven't. We'll see how I work with this. I'd REALLY like to get back into tracking food (and exercise)...I KNOW that helps me gearing down on portions. I'll see if I have the "umph" to move in that direction after I get back from my 10 days in San Francisco (Oct 15-25).

Meantime I keep working at being the best I can be...ALL THINGS CONSIDERED!

Stupidly bought size 16 pants without trying them on last week and they are too baggy. I was size 18 last winter, 16 by around May, and now I'm just not sure.
Have been very faithful with my exercise as promised..guess it's time to actually measure again. emoticon

Home at long last. My new measurements:
neck 14" down .25

Yes, I am using the same tape measure I began with in Sept.

Alright addicts, there are eight of us now and we have finished the first month of the autumn challenge. Even though I did no cardio for the full month (knee & ankle injuries) I did end up losing a pound or two. I will take the measurements this evening and get back to you on if I lost any inches...that was the major goal right? So check back. post yours and check your goodies for a little extra encouragement... emoticon I love hearing about all of your progress, Francesca

OK, here's my *performance for the week ending yesterday:

4/7 days of aerobic exercise
2/7 days of strength training

This morning my weight is 138.8.

I'll stick it out another week and see if I can drag myself forward, even if it's kickin' and screaming!

I am also VERY opposed to fading away, MAHA!!

I have not posted here- but I have been walking 4-5 days a week and doing strength training 3 times.

My trip to San Francisco last week disrupted the pattern a little, but then does running after a 2-year-old count for anything?

I'm cheering us all on - for this autumn challenge!!

Go team go!!!

Weekly CHALLENGE GOALS check-in Sept 14-20:

20 min. aerobic exercise 2/7 days.
20 min. strength training 2/7 days.

I'm not doing any interim weighing in, because I'm fearful of what I'll see.

I debated about just fading into the twilight, rather than posting this pathetic performance. I'll continue one more week...and see how it goes.

Let's celebrate our accomplishments with a fun activity as we get closer to the end of september. I'm taking my swollen knee and sitting in the sun today. emoticon

2 days of cardio so far, one day of strength training so far.

Gained two inches on my body -_-.

Simply unacceptable.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could; some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; you shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.

I did my weekly weigh in this morning and I am up about a pound. I was not as active as I had hoped to be. But I did get some gardening plus I walk to the shops almost everyday--about 10 minute walk.

Have a great week all.

Thanks SHINKU & Cathy. I'm trying to stay positive, but right now I'm looking out the window on a beautiful day and a beautiful horse AND I CAN'T RIDE! emoticon I've been on my arse for two days with Alleve & ice packs. I think I may have myself a little glass of wine and count all my blessings. Best to each of you... emoticon

Francesca, hope your knee feels better soon. Take heart Maha, seems to me that you are off to a pretty decent start.

For my cardio today(its 7:30 am here), I want to get some gardening done. And ease into some weight bearing exercises--I have not done weights in forever.

emoticon Cathy, Maha & Pennyann! I'm so glad you are in this challenge. I had a real setback on Sept. 5th. I fell at my sister's and sprained my left ankle and landed on my right knee. The knee is worse than the ankle. I started this school year wearing a knee brace and icing it at lunch break. Limping, very swollen and painful! Needless to say I am not doing much. Hopefully I'll have a better October... Put in some cardio for me por favor. I'll try to get motivated enough to do some upper body weight training & not gain any inches this month. emoticon

I am off and running!
I am walking 3 miles (1 hr) five times during the week. And I am doing strength training three times.
I have begun to track my food again.
Took my measurements and watch the scale daily.
This should be a great autumn!!

Just getting home from school and muttering to myself that YET AGAIN TODAY, I haven't done anything aerobic. I even yelled out for help in the huddle LOL.

First of all I'm not taking measurements, just weight. Prolly should, but I can't find my tape measure, so...whatever. My weight on Sept 4 was 140.3 lbs. I'm going with that.

Second, here's how last week went (based on the day I joined, my weeks begin on Tues) Aug 31-Sept 6:

~ 20 min. of aerobic activity at least 3 days/wk:

Sept 4,
1 hr. bike ride +
1.5 hr vinyasa yoga (1/3)

~ 20 min. of strength training 3 days/wk:

Aug 31, done
Sept 2, done (2/3)

~ daily noting of gratitudes (personal challenge):

Done 7/7

~ daily meditation practice (personal challenge):

Sept 3-6, done (4/7)

As you can see I got off to a veeeeeeeeery slow start. Also, a pair of pants I was going to wear this morning (that I WORE LAST WEEK) were uncomfortably snug. And that REALLY got me down.

I'm still careening along in an out-of-balance mode emotionally. This afternoon I feel a little better ...but I'm definitely struggling.

Baby step by baby step...that's all I can say at this moment.

I am going to join this challenge. It aligns with my own personal goals - and so I want to do it anyway. I need to be more focused after this summer of losing only 1 pound. Count me in.

Ok...OK! I'm in...I'll try a structured approach. I've found over time that I sometimes set myself up for failure by joining challenges. BUT, on the other hand, I too need some accountability. So, I'm going to give it a try!!!

Off we go, team!

So, September is here, it is 90 degrees and the AUTUMN CHALLENGE is on! I took my measurements & here they are:
neck=14.25"
bust=46" (that is already down from 52") YAY!
upper arm= 16"
wrist= 7.5" (yeah, those shrink too)
waist=39" (the slowest to shrink)
hips= 46" (also down from 52")
thigh= 24
calf= 17
So I totaled my inches for 209.75 total inches. Let's see what my total will be October first.
Feel free to post yours or keep it private, but let us all know the total lost on the first of each month. Remember cardio and/or weight training 5 days a week minimum. Kick ass!
