Here's an update on my stats - I've made progress!

Waist: 25.5"
Hips: 32.25"
Thighs: 19.5"
CW: 123.5 lbs
GW: 119 lbs

focusing on veggies, lean protein, and one carb indulgence per day (sweet potato, etc.). I'm so close! But I did fall off the wagon a bit two days ago and eat two delicious cookies.

EMMY211, have you tried roasting veggies? It really brings out their good flavor and is super easy! I find that simple meals are often the tastiest. Herbs are your best friend when enhancing flavor!

Just take five minutes to regroup, and don't ever forget to make time for what makes you happy.

I'm looking to get back to 120 lbs, and I'm really struggling with the diet aspect of my diet and exercise plan. How do you guys resist the nut butters and nighttime cravings? I want to get my lovely waistline back!

Hi, Kagina! Have you tried doing interval exercises? There are some great workouts at Bodyrock.tv (warning: don't be scared off by their over the top photos and lack of clothing. The girl in them, Lisa, is a sweetheart)

Anyway, most are just 12 minutes a day and require little to no equipment. Check out some of the before and after photos from their followers, amazing!

My metabolism has started to slow, and 1,200 calories a day is simply too many now. I've gained some weight recently and though I know I look fine, fine is not the same as awesome. I have diabetes and not too active a lifestyle, so I want to be in better shape. I can't wait to read everyone's ideas and goals!

I'm eating more veggies and fruit and less simple carbs, and just doing as many sit ups, push ups, etc. as I can once daily. I'm open to suggestions for a work out routine. I used to go to the gym, but don't have a membership now. I love playing racquet sports as a workout, but don't have the equipment. I'll invest in getting some when I'm able.

Tried:
Started on the first phase of the SBD diet and it went well for a few pounds, but I think the tough crossfit workouts + sudden dieting made my body relapse a bit and after a month I started to gain back the weight I had lost (had gotten to 133).

Currently:
Now I'm trying jogging 3 times a week (4.5miles) and Bar Method 3 times a week. Sounds old school, but I just started the slim fast shake mix 3-2-1, and I think it does help to curb the appetite a bit. Will see.

I just started! My current weight: estimated 125 (no scale) I also do not have access to a measuring tape, so I'm going all on how my clothes fit! I have a pair of size 4 pants that I plan to try on every 2 weeks to see how my progress is going. :-)

First check-in! My fitness is much improved from high school days but not where I want to be. Back then I'd gotten as high as 150 and then lost too much too quickly. I have been able to keep my weight at a pretty happy 116 for the past few years. Until recently. I'm blaming the gain on careless eating, a couple of binges and not enough exercise. All that changes yesterday.

allowing yourself a couple days on the weekend to not have to count calories and indulge a bit has really helped me from crash dieting. It also helps motivate me to keep going because after I indulge I realize how feeling great feels much better than having that soda or burger:)

I'm back from my vacation....and I didn't gain any weight! In fact I lost weight! Though it's probably due to eating nothing but soup and juice for the past 4 days because I've been sick since I got home but hey, it worked.
I'm only about 3 pounds away from my goal! I will get back to my calorie tracking tomorrow- I didn't on vacation and haven't been while I've been sick- like I said mainly just consisting on soup and juice, and that's not my normal eating habits. I wanna get back to my workouts but waiting until after I go to the doctor today and I'm not sick anymore.

Good job to everyone who has lost a couple pounds! emoticon Even though I've used sparkpeople for a couple years, this week I was inspired to actually use the calorie tracker for the first time! It seemed kind of confusing and tedious at first but I think I'll get the hang of it. It has left me feeling slightly hungry but if it helps me lose a few pounds I think that's great, and I'm definitely not starving I just wish my portions could be bigger- but that's the whole point now isn't it.
I seriously can't tell if I'm losing weight- I think my scale needs to be re-calibrated or something because I'll stand on it and it looks like I lost a few pounds, and then I step off and back on again and it goes back up. Oh well, probably just means I should be tracking my inches which I've been slacking on. I have been going to the gym regularly so that's a win!
My vacation is in less than two weeks!! I really hope I can lose a few pounds!

Soooo I started off great, going to the gym a few times a week. But I got seriously derailed- with a few medical problems completely stressing me out I've been stuffing my face to make myself feel better and haven't been to the gym in a week, ugh. But hopefully things are looking up and I can work out hard core and eat well because my vacation is in 4 weeks! I don't know if that's even enough time to reach my goals but I would be happy with just a couple pounds lost. I want to look great in that bikini, damnit!

hi all! I have a specific goal so I thought this was perfect for me. I'm going on a vacation in March and want to tone up and lose these last 9 pounds that have been sticking around for the past year! (or longer)

My vacation is in 6 weeks, I have a gym membership, I'm ready to do this! I'm also armed with a measuring tape because I'm hoping that even if the scale is stubborn I will hopefully lose inches which is my goal too. I will post my measurements and stats when I get them.

I lost 1 pound this week which I'm happy with since I overindulged during Thanksgiving ;)

My current measurements:

SW: 195 (5/2009)
CW: 144 (1 pound loss!)

Waist (smallest point) - 27.5
Waist (at umbilicus) - 32.5 (lost 0.5in!)

Hips - 38 (lost 0.5in!)

Anterior Superior Iliac Spines (pointy part of your hip) - 34.5 (lost .5in!)

Overall, even though I only lost 1 pound I saw some small changes in my hips and thigh which is really where I need to lose it! Yay!

I'm thrilled because my hips lost 1 inch in the last month (although other measurement stayed the same). And that's where I really need to loose it!

I weigh myself whenever I feel like it, sometimes everyday, other times I completely forget about it and weigh myself a week later. I understand that if you weigh yourself on a fixed day you see a progress, but I couldn't go a week without weighing myself. I don't get too critical if I gained a bit of weight though, if you do, then do not weigh yourself everyday!

I'm 5'9'' and 22 years old. This is my info as of last saturday (my weigh in day), May 15th 2010:

Weight: 138.6 lbs
Waist (narrowest point): 29.5 inches
Belly (inch below navel): 34 inches
Hips: 37inchs
Body Fat (or so says my scale): 23%

My goal is to get to 134 pounds or lighter, and take in the waist and belly by one-three inches. YAY!

Ok, well its thursday!! I did my weights and measurements...

I lost 3 pounds, 3 inches off my hips, 2.5 inches off my waist, and a 1/2 an inch off my thighs. Body fat went down by .6% too!!

I feel great!! How are you all doing?!

I only allow myself to weigh once a week as well. That is the rule anyway. I try to do it on Mondays but sometimes if I am "feeling thin" I let myself try on Thursdays.

I only want to weigh myself once a week so that I dont get down on my self if I gain a pound or what not!! So - THURSDAY I will be doing all my measurements again!!!

I "officially" weigh myself every Friday (to put into SP), but during the week I like to weigh myself just as a reminder that every day's food and exercise choices are important and make a difference.

I started SP right before Christmas and didn't behave myself very well, so my weight has not changed (155), and I don't think my measurements have either :(. I will not let this speed bump stop me from reaching my goal, 140, in a couple months. I have however been much better with my fitness over the past 2 weeks. I can only assume my not gaining weight this holiday season was because of this.
I hope to post better results next week!

I started at SparkPeople last week after Christmas (and lots of overeating). I starting weight was 192 lbs. I did my first "spark" weigh-in today, and I'm 189.4

I'm on my way to 180 lbs! I can totally do this. Sparkpeople.com is pretty much the most amazing thing ever.

I gave birth 9 weeks ago and have lost the baby weight but am going for another 10 lbs too!!!! Just signed up for aqua fit classes - i've only ever done a yoga class before now but need to ramp up the effort if I'm going to make it by christmas :o)

I just had my baby boy a month ago and I've started this week counting calories and slowly getting back into exercising. I weigh 158 and want to get down to 130, which is about 10 lbs lighter than pre-pregnancy. After knowing what it's truly like to be big, I think once I can work out like I used to I will be more aware of my body and what I put in it.

starting at 153 lbs and wanting to be 145 by october 17th (going to a wedding) but can handle a 5 lb loss by then and then my goal weight by halloween.

I noticed the site likes to track weigh ins on a monthly basis...i've got to do it weekly so i stay on track. Last Friday I was 157.0 TODAY I'm 155.4!

I do not know my body fat %, but here are my stats for today (Weds are my weigh/measure days!) :)
Measurements:
--Waist (narrowest): 28"
--Hips (widest): 34.25"
--Neck (narrowest): I don't measure this
--Thigh (widest): 20.75"
--Calf (widest): I don't measure calf
--Ribs (under chest): Don't measure this either
Recent photo (ideally in swim suit taken on the day of posting the measurements, or at most 1-2 lbs up/down from CW)
