Christmas is a tricky time with all the extra food and temptations. how will you minimise the damage?
Just DH and myself for Christmas Day but the day after we have 7 of us here. I am able to control the menu so am trying to make favourites and make them lower cal. Lots of meat and fish, veggies and fruit, but if we have mince pies and sausage rolls just use half the usual amount of pastry. If we get a cake or gateau, make sure it goes home with the others..lol both my sons can eat and not gain, I just have to save a little for dh..lol
I know it is harder if you go somewhere else as no-one wants to offend the hostess, but she probably feels the same as you do so maybe saying something like, "I will try a little of this but may come back for that later". Fill your plate up with the low cal stuff and just a little of the other. If you can't trust yourself get someone else to fill your plate and tell them exactly what you want. Drink a large glass of water 30 minutes before you eat to help fill you up, and if you drink alcholol, have a glass of water between each alcholic drink
Let us know what you do?

People are like stained-glass windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from within.
