Hi, I liked that article too.....really agree with the idea that exercise should be fun...my husband and I make daily walks part of our routine and it's time we really enjoy together. I've just gotten home from a work trip where walking and running were impossible and can't wait to get out there!

I totally switched to greek yogurt....it's thick and creamy and so not only more satisfying for me to eat but also in terms of lasting...a container of greek yogurt with some lowfat granola sprinkled on....yummm

One of the news updates on AOL a while back said 'compare labels on Dannon and Yoplait light yogurts.' Yoplait has so many flavor labels that were leaving me hungry. I compared it with Dannon. Dannon has fructose, Yoplait has high fructose corn syrup and other things. Also a 6 oz serving of Yoplait is about 100 calories and Dannon is 80.

Yoplait whipped? 160 calories, no substance.

Great replies! I just got a new scale, a digital one, the one I had when I was on WW could read differently especially if I was really, really careful how I put the food in...LOL, not that I would cheat! HA You are right, portion distortion is such an easy way to goof ourselves up. And, I love the Treadmill and the wts by the bedside and fitness video ideas....did you know there are teams with bootcamp challenges? When I started here, I joined a sweatsuit to swimsuit bootcamp...you can join these and do the daily exercises etc even if they aren't currently running the challenge...anyway, it forced me to do the exercises as I felt like I needed to do everything in the challenge and it really gave me a jumpstart in the fitness section.

Measuring spoons, cups, and food scale. I used these tools when I was following Weight Watchers diet. I have pulled them all out again. It is amazing what I have been using as a portion compared to what really should be a portion. This in and of itself will help with the amount of calories I am intaking on a daily basis.

3 and 5 lb free weights, by the bed! lift something healthy instead of snacks when you watch tv! Check out the fitness section - tons of exercises to do in there that you need nothing or a couple small weights to do.

I got a treadmill yesterday! I can walk inside on the rainy days or during my favorite tv show, then I don't have to skip exercise because of weather!

I haven't entirely figured out how we'll do this but here's the game.....you remember those scavenger hunts we used to do? A list of things to find and the first to return with the completed list would get a prize.
I would like to start a Sparkpeople scavenger hunt...in this case I will suggest something to find...your mission if you choose to join in, is to find an item that fulfills it and share with the rest of us what you found, where you found it and how it fullfills the requirement. I would also welcome anyone playing to also suggest an item to find if they would like.
