I bought a pedometer, but as far as calculating calories, it sucks, so what I do instead is i log my fitness minutes, steps and mileage and let spark people calculate the calories I burned. That's all i can do for now, until i can get a more nicer one.
For the record I step well over 5000 steps per day!!!!!

I'm in. I lost my old pedometer and got a new one. Don't like it 'cause I have to take it off to read it. Anyway, I have 5,654 so far today and the day isn't over. My goal is 10,000 too but I like to quilt and that requires more sitting!!
That sounds like a lot of steps in 20 minutes. You should do a test. Check the pedometer, then walk counting steps for a couple of minutes and check again. Did you have to put measurements in yours before you started?

Different people will measure this in different ways. For our purposes here, it means 5,000 total steps in a day. I recommend getting an inexpensive pedometer to track your steps. I have one that can go in my pocket or clip onto my slacks. I put it in my pocket as soon as I get out of bed in the morning and keep it on my person until I go to bed at night. When I first started, I didn't even hit 1,500 some days. I would like to hit 10,000 per day but I haven't done that too often. If you go on a 10-minute walk (or two) it will increase your step count quickly.
