I know what you mean about burning off stress when walking. I love walking too. I am trying to get back to doing more of it. I walked 3.5 miles today. I don't want to do too much at once, because I injured my foot once by doing that, and then I couldn't walk for over 6 weeks. I also love to do prayer walking. I just think of all the people who have helped me or people I know who might need prayer, and I pray as I'm walking.

If I can do it Anybody can Never in my life would I have dreamed I'd be walking 8-10 miles 6 days a week! But here I am! And you know what happened? I've become addicted! why because it's not only my exercise for the day It is also very much a stress relief. I can be feeling agitated uptight about something and I'll head out or my walk and 20 minutes later I'm calming down.

Good advice NOMORESTALLING. I'm going to take it up and try my best to up my efforts. I was up to 30 - 45 minutes cardio but was really out of breath doing it. I know that 90 minutes will come .... eventually ..... but I've got to hit the 60 minutes timeframe before hitting the 90 minutes, but I will do it! :)

Am I guessing or how accurate would I be if I were to assume that many of you are the type who takes awhile to get going in the morning You just don't have the spring out of bed ready to work out, greet the day energy, but when you do start moving you feel great and have energy to spare for the rest of the day.
That's because aerobic exercise gets your heart pumping and your lungs working, which strengthens them and helps them get better-oxygenated blood out to your cells. And the more oxygen you provide to your cells, the more energy, immunity, and endurance you'll build up — all of which lead to a sexy, healthy body!

Here's how to pump up your exercise routine.

For those of you just getting geared up in your new lifestyle the best is to aim for at least 90 minutes of cardio exercise per week. You should be engaging in moderate aerobic exercise for at least 30 minutes, at least three times per week — though the more you can do, the better. Ninety minutes per week is the minimum you need to keep your heart healthy and to speed up your metabolism so you can drop that weight.
It's ore or less what I began with and look at me now I'm walking 3 hours a day; 8-10 miles six days a week!

Mix it up. For some of you you may need to mix it up because in doing the same thing every day gets boring after a while. Choose new walking routes, add an aerobics class sign up for a gym membership and actually use it!, or go for a swim instead of a trip on the StairMaster.

Keep challenging yourself. After a few weeks of the same routine, your body will plateau at the new level of fitness — if you want to progress even further, you’ll need to push yourself. That may mean increasing the speed at which you exercise, the amount of time you spend working out, or the challenge of the routine. So, if you’re a walker, you’ll need to pick up the pace, walk longer, or look for a hillier route. This will ensure that you continue to build the strength of your heart and your lungs.
And in walking I have found that about every 20 minutes or so my adrenalin kicks it up a notch and I just naturally want to pick up my pace!
