Looks like we lost Janet again emoticon

I'm doing better this week, but still need to kick it into gear. Got to drop some pounds to feel lighter and more comfortable in my body (and my clothes, and in narrow hallways, etc!!)

The weather is promising to get a little better and I'm a little more caught up on work, so maybe I'll be more motivated to get out this week.

Night, you're moving into a ranch house? Just you, or are you letting hubby join you ;)

I'm doing a little better with my goals every day. Today I start my daily walk regimen. Period!!!!! I had a wonderful morning of writing, meditating, and planning a new daily lifestyle plan/schedule - so I have a good start.

Speaking of which, I must get back to my schedule by getting to work!

Have a great day, all!!

Okay, I'm done with house sitting so I can get back to our threads at least a few times per week.

I'm doing well some days, and badly others. With the sun out today, I know I'll do better. Coming out of a fog. emoticon

Woohoo!! A new person committing to the challenge!

Tuesdays are insane days for me. I instruct 4 classes and do a short run with clients.

A 60 minute workout is ONLY 4% of your day...no excuses!!!

Hi! I am Eli, new here. I understand not being motivated and sometimes have to try extra hard to overcome the cycle of feeling a bit down (which means for me, too much snacking and no interest in exercise).
However, I will join in on the Week Challenge! :)
We WILL do it!!

Butter, Lard...basically the fat content. Of course, you have the other little beast called sugar and it's various forms!! LOL

It's amazing how just a little taste can make you crave it more and more!

Excellent job!!! Keep pushing!!!

Did ok with food today...within my range. Did you know that the reason Au Gratin Potatos taste so good is they are packed with fat!?!?!? They are on my eat very little list!! LOL I don't eat them often, but they sounded good tonight. Baked chicken, salad, green beans, potatos...If I would have left them off, would have had 23 grams of fat less for the day and could have had something healthier for the 400 calories!!!

I'll know for next time!

First time around for me I lost 45 pounds and was just about at goal. And then I slacked off and gained back 29 pounds! I am going to lose those pounds again. I am very motivated to do that. It just might take me a little longer is all, but I WILL get there!

I work out in the evening after work. I get up at 5:30am for work and I can't get up any earlier. Depending on the weather I will take a 20-30 power walk at lunch. Work and my commute time is the problem. Thanks for the suggestions.

Great job on "No Dew"!! Woohoo!!!

Question Janeytee: Do you exercise morning, afternoon or evening? What I tell my clients...mornings are perfect if you are a morning person. Afternoons are ok, but you must do your workout before you do anything else...facebook, laundry, etc...or it may not happen. Evenings, only if that is your regular time to work out and you do them...or maybe a fitness class.

You have to set your self up for success not failure! You have 3 choices in life: Give In, Give Up or Give It All You've Got!! I hope this helps!!

My legs are tore up sore from the Groundhog 5k/10k challenge yesterday!

Wow! Great story Pris!

I didn't do too bad this weekend - mainly maintaining - not trying to lose anything over the weekend.

This week I am going to try and up my fitness minutes to 300. My main problem with that is finding the time not being motivated enough.

I am now 3 weeks with no dew! I can't believe I have done it for this long! I still get occasional cravings for it, but I haven't had too hard of a time dealing with that!

That is another goal for me - to keep going on no dew!

Ran the 5k and 10k race this morning. I ran with a group for the 5k, but came in 15th on the 10k. I forgot how many women were in my age bracket but it was up there!! I'll have to look it up and get back with you on that!!

I'm destroying food today!! Feel like I'm starving. I will be back on it tomorrow.

This is not my goals for my personal health journey, but one of my clients. I would like to share.

James is his name. He is middle aged man that WAS considered morbidly obese in August. He seen Adam, another morbidly obese individual, working out with me on a morning new's show. They are part of the Big Changes program I run at SW Blvd Family Fitness Center.

James has been working out 4 days per week. Some straight cardio and some cardio and strength training mixed together. He heard what the dietician from KU Med Ctr had to say. He laughed, sweated, grunted, groaned and excelled in his workouts.

Here we are 5 months later, James officially graduated the whole program. He went from a BMI of 46 to a BMI of 32.5. I'm so proud of him!

I hope this helps inspire each and everyone of us to TRY. Consistency is the name of the game ya'll!!

well need to start planning for my goals next week i made the 300 exercisesminutes yesterday by 20 min. . as i said food and water was good, think i also need to work on more shapeing up or is that down? most of my min was cadio ,so if i switch some of my cardio for strength training i might get some where.
think i will stick with that for this week as i don"t do much yet on weekends because of weather, ect.
so goals for last of this month will be,
300 min -
3-4 st-training.
water-
my 10000 step goals day -

well all have a good weekend,

I'm a 4200+ on Calorie burn so far. My goal is 5000 per week. It was a little harder for the fact that I'm on my taper for my race this weekend. Food wasn't too spectacular today. It never is good after not sleeping well the night before.

Hitting the sack in a few minutes!! I'm shooting for a good 8 hours tonight!

Enjoy your weekend!

Good for you Night! Planning out your next week goals! Another thing you need to do is clean out all those bad foods and when your able to get to the grocery store don't buy that junk again! I know easier said than done, especially when you have others in your house who don't want to eat healthy!

I am hanging in there. Yesterday I had a challenge. My boss took me to lunch. Boy there really wasn't too many healthy items on the menu. I ended up staying within my ranges because I didn't eat dinner at home. I know not really healthy but it was the only way around it that I could figure.

I got my fitness minutes in for the week! 250 of them! Although I do need to get more strength into to my workout. I have mainly been doing cardio exercises.

Janet

Goals:
1 - Do a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio a day, plus 15 minutes of strength 3 times a week
2 - stay within my calorie range

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

Thanks Pris! I know I need to stay consistent. That has always been my downfall in the past. But I am trying to do a better job of it this time around. Mainly those pesky weekends.

Night - just don't have another lazy day like you had the other day! I am kind of glad I don't have to be reliant on burning wood to stay warm - I would be freezing all the time! We use a natural gas furnace. But I sure don't like it when the bill comes in to pay for all that gas!

Janet

Goals:
1 - Do a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio a day, plus 15 minutes of strength 3 times a week
2 - stay within my calorie range

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

I am not on a diet - I am living a healthy life

I'm here! Sometimes I get busy at work or home or I get sucked into facebook! But I am actually doing pretty good this week. My weigh-in was today and I lost 2 pounds!

I am sticking to my eating plan - at least during the week. I am tracking everyday! The weekends are my problems. Still trying to work on that. Maybe put that in my goals for next week.

I already have 175 fitness minutes in this week. Working on my core still.

Janet

1 - Do a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio a day, plus 15 minutes of strength 3 times a week
2 - stay within my calorie range

I was sick late December and gained weight even though I had vomited several times...nasty! It took me about 4 days to get back into the swing of things. It took me about 2 weeks to get back to normal weight and conditioning.

I am the leader for KC Sparkers and Independence, Mo Sparkers. It is always a challenge to keep activity up. I need to run city vs city challenge again. We give actual prizes out like memberships to the gym I run. We get to meet each other. Of course, a little competition is always good!! LOL

Have a great day!

I will not be as active in the running dept. this week. I have a couple of races on Sunday, so I'm in my "taper."

I didn't eat very well yesterday. I attended a Boot Camp workshop. Not much on breaks for food and water! I had an awesome time learning about new approaches to workouts though!

As of Saturday, I burned over 5600 cals for the week. Did ok with my food, but could cut out some of the junk I had. Those "love handles" would go away quicker if I would!! LOL

Today, I'm attending a boot camp work shop, so I will have plenty of exercise today!! I'm hoping to keep up on my food intake.

Good night sleep is so important to help you losing weight!

Night - I walk outside during my lunch break - weather permitting. And I walk to and from bus stops going to and from work. But I don't usually take any other walks outside this time of year, unless it is a really nice day. Its hard when I work all day and don't get home until after 6 pm. Its dark outside then at this time of year. But I love walking outside in the spring and summer and I can't wait until spring gets here!

Yes! I had a totally excellent day yesterday! Tracked all my food and my fitness minutes! I even stayed within all my ranges, except for protein, which was a little low. AND I got in 65 fitness minutes! Woo Hoo! I am feeling good right now! And today will be another excellent day!

Janet

Goals:

Missed a couple days of tracking food, but exercise was up and more intense. Dropped a pound. Can feel a difference in the midsection, which is always good!

My mission this week:
to log food daily and more timely
increase my fruits and veggies

Good luck with the chocolate!

My personal goal is to get in at least 250 fitness minutes. I didn't reach last weeks goal of 200 but only by 20 minutes. But I need to start pushing myself a little. Slowly I will increase this every week until I reach 500 minutes per week.

My core is where it is at - the fat that is! I will concentrate on that section this week!

I need to focus more on ST than cardio this week. Starting tomorrow I'll change my workouts to include at least 30 minutes 3 days this week. I also need to lay off the chocolate, cravings or no. Wish me luck.

How did you do with last week's challenge?

Personally I did horrible but I have a new motivation to get me out of my funk. I WILL succeed!

Lets stay with something simple:

1. Post in this thread a personal goal you would like to accomplish this week. Write it down - listing how you believe you can accomplish it.
2. Track all your food for the week. Post here your accomplishments or where you need the most help.
3. Track all your fitness minutes. What is your problem area? Your core, upper body? Focus on that area this week every other day.
4. At the end of the week post whether or not you accomplished your personal goal and whether or not you accomplished the challenge goals.
5. If you accomplished all your goals - reward yourself with something other than a non-food reward. Also, plan your next weeks goals
6. If you did not accomplish your goals - post here where things went wrong and make a plan to accomplish your goals.
