ahh gee i thought i had mine all fixed, ok lets come up with a plan which i don"t have planed.
Hehehe
ok i dont know what your doing for weekends but, you also have to factor in that yea have kids , need to work arounf that, then also other unplanned things.
what i do is plan my whole week and weekends on a sunday - then stick to it if you can not get to it no sweat do what you can.meals same way plan them and then if something happens just make sure you write down what you really eat , next to plan ones.
and another thing is if you really want to do it makes a different to if you talk your self out of it well then your setting self up for a bad weigh in or what ever, i know i have talked myself out og working on couple of those weekends .
hope you understand what i am trying to say. maybe this will give some ideas to through back at us.

But if it was that easy then we wouldn't be having this discussion and we probably wouldn't even need Sparks!

What I have been doing is not working for the weekends. I need to come up with a different plan. Just not sure what to do.

Janet

Goals:
1 - Do a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio a day, plus 15 minutes of strength 3 times a week
2 - stay within my calorie range

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

Sounds like the two of you have identified your problems times - just like me - now each of us needs to figure out a plan to "fix" these problems areas.

Good for you Lynn! Now you need to make a plan on how to deal with the problems you're having as the day goes on.

I am pretty much back on track. Its just the weekends that I really need to work on.

It's great to see you again, Shar!!!

Night, Janet's suggestions are the best. I used to have a boyfriend who would ride his stationary bike every single day while watching movies. entertainment is probably the way most people stay on track with it.

Since we started this challenge, I did well at the beginning of every day, but would worsen later in the day. I seem to be back on track, though. Will try to make it stick this time. Got a good start today with digging up blackberry bushes with a shovel, then did some mild yoga to stretch out the muscles. I feel better than I have in weeks!

Murphgirl - good decision on delaying the exercising. You need to really concentrate on getting better! Always a good time to eat healthy though!

Night - great job on cutting out the cappuccino! While on your treadmill can you listen to music or watch tv? Might be a way to make it less boring.

Ok ... I tried. I failed a bit on Friday. I didn't get out of bed to exercise, and didn't track. I did figure I'd just exercise Saturday morning, and go back and track the food that day.

Of course, Saturday, I got home and into bed around 1AM. And at 6AM I woke up with the stomach bug. So that was a fun 12ish hours there. And I pretty much slept through Monday (my longest stretch of time awake was from 5pm to 10pm last night; watched the Patriots and read).

Right now I'm just focusing on rehydrating and eating. I'm deferring exercise until tomorrow, since I didn't feel that it would go well on so little food and hydration the past two days. (I may have been able to keep food and drink in yesterday, but I wasn't particularly hungry. I'm still not, actually. Mostly wicked thirsty).

But I am proud of myself for trying so hard when I was on the road. Trying to eat right and exercise (especially early on in the routine) is really difficult when you're not at home (and especially when you don't particularly care for salads).

Welcome back Sharlene! I may not be too old for this team but some days I feel like it!

Sorry I haven't been posting the rest of last week. I was really busy at work and I started eating horribly again and just have been so discouraged.

I failed miserably at this challenge. I began great and then everything went downhill from there.

ok my week for goals i choose was water and 10000 steps
good news is i made all the water goals, had few days there i was ready to hang some one with out having my cappuccino and they are not small either 20 ozes and i would drinkd any where from 2 -4 a day , now i am down to one emoticon .

to make this better i am going cold turkey next week i feel like i dont really need it .

ok now the bad news- my other goal was to get in steps i started out good missed out 3 days of not making the 10000 ,
started out saturday to work on those darn steps for the weekend i went up to gas station and then come back home , i was alone here to so it ended up a little scary i just got in house out of the bitter wind ect , and i felt something run down my face, here just as i got door opened and my nose started to bleed, , dont wory i got it stopped but was dizzy the rest of day , so today i rested up to no steps in.

i did drive up to station today and they told me it could be that happened because of my high blood pressure or heart condition,

oh well this week i will just have to stay inside - to accomplish those goals weather cant get me there.

my new goals this week will be still work on steps and water but also addlittle more exercise time to ,

Hi ladies! Back to work last Monday after a 2 week break. No gym during that break and my diet was HORRIBLE. I at least got back to regular gym work outs last week but need to get my diet under control. More water. Less sugar. I started throwing out leftover holiday goodies. This stuff is my down fall!

I appreciate your post. My goal is to crack down and get serious. I drink the water I need to and I walk anywhere from 7900 - 13000 steps a day in my job...just not the way I need to walk nor is it consistent. The other major part of my goal is to document everything I eat and buckle down and eat right. My issue is I don't like many vegetables nor seafood. I need help with making good selections from the foods I like, as well as inspiration. 2013 IS GOING TO BE MY YEAR!!!! I am going to lose 60lbs.:)

Tracked as best I could today. We went to Buca di Beppo tonight, and family-style dining is not really friendly to tracking. I had bits of a lot of things, but still reasonable. So I made educated guesses and tracked it anyway.

Still rockin' on the exercise. Even got in an extra 10 minutes by walking to/from a pharmacy with some of my co-workers to pick up some stuff. So, pretty happy with myself.

Night - you didn't miss much! Thanks for belated gifts!

Well I tracked all my food - even though it wasn't all that pretty! And yesterday I got a total of 50 minutes of fitness! I am just a tad sore but not too bad. I haven't been doing any fitness either and it's about time I got back to it!

Ok. I'll give it a try.

Personal goal: I'm traveling for business this week, which makes it very difficult to stay on track (nice way to start the new year, right?). So, my goal is to track everything I do. I recognize that I will probably go over calories. But I need to be honest about what I'm eating. (And, frankly, just tracking helps me make sure I'm staying on track).

And since I'm still revving up on exercise, I'm just going to say that what I'm doing is +20 minutes. Because 1 week ago, I wasn't doing any minutes at all.

Thanks Pris! Motivation and finding enough time in the day to exercise has been my problem. Last year I just totally went off the wagon. I started eating bad again and slowly I just stopped exercising which led to me re-finding 25 pounds that I had lost! I don't know maybe turning 50 last year had something to do with it, but I am determined to turn this thing around - with a little help from my friends!

I get it! I'm mid 40's now and refuse to slow down! LOL It takes me a little longer to warm up and a lot longer to cool down, but staying consistent helps keep me moving!

The question you have to ask yourself Janeytee is why do you keep slowing down? What keeps you from driving forward? We tend to focus on what gets us started instead of what's slowing us down? Make sense???

Start slow, pick up speed and maintain a comfortable regimen. This will help keep you motivated and not burnt out!! Let me know if you I can help in some other way!

Pris - I have seriously slacked off for the past year. So I need to come back into this thing slowly. And besides, you guys may want to get rid of me - I am no longer 40something! This old body needs some time to warm up to all this exercising stuff!

I've been seriously lacking in the exercise dept. for the past few months so this week's goal, in addition, to those set forth by the January Jumpstart challenge is to get to the gym at least 3 times. I have a workout date tonight with my main squeeze to get that ball rolling.

ok guess what? i see what i am doing wrong,,, i was just lonely and depressed until i got back on here. and did"t care it just hit me while typing this.

Thanks! If you can't increase your fitness minutes no problem - just adjust it to your own fitness goals.

I need to get myself back on track! I need to get back to tracking my nutrition and my fitness everyday.

My personal goal is to begin working out again. I will start out with a goal of 200 fitness minutes this week.

Janet

Goals:
1 - Do a minimum of 30 minutes of cardio a day, plus 15 minutes of strength 3 times a week
2 - stay within my calorie range

Many people will walk in and out of your life, but only true friends will leave footprints in your heart.

I am not on a diet - I am living a healthy life

Here is a simple challenge to help get you back on track or start yourself if you are a newbie.

1. Post in this thread a personal goal you would like to accomplish this week. Write it down - listing how you believe you can accomplish it.
2. Track all your food for one week
3. Whatever your exercise minutes are currently - increase that by 20 minutes anytime during the week.
4. At the end of the week post whether or not you accomplished your personal goal and whether or not you accomplished the challenge goals.
5. If you accomplished all your goals - reward yourself with something other than a non-food reward. Also, plan your next weeks goals
6. If you did not accomplish your goals - post here where things went wrong and make a plan to accomplish your goals.
