Thanks for the question and answer! I thought it meant to tighten the abs, but if so, why didn't anyone ever just say that?

sitting at your chair, driving in the car, standing in line.......just think of the possibilities.

I heard it described as "zipping you abs" once and always likes that description.

off to look at the video for a fresh look at things

All the so called "secrets of success"will not work ... unless you do.

Chris, thanks so much for that link!! In following her instructions, it occurred to me that I should be engaging my abs some even while sitting in my chair at the computer - I'm betting that doing it (I'm doing it as I speak) will not only help my posture but will strengthen me and by practicing it in my chair will help me do it BETTER while I'm exercising!!

I THOUGHT I knew what it meant before but after following her instructions I'm sure I WASN'T doing it right!! So thanks again!!

Have a SPARKLING day everyone!!

I have noticed several videos on Sparkpeople say to engage your abs. What does that mean? I did the 12 min seated core workout today, and not sure I was doing it right because of this I thought engaging abs, means to suck them in while you complete the workout. Is that correct?

Any advice would be appreciated

Thanks
Cheryl Martin.
