We are so fortunate to have a heated indoor pool that has senior hours from 9:00 to 11:00. It is a community pool here in Boston and only costs $20 a year. My husband and I have gone there everyday since 2003.
If I could get to a pool regularly that I could also afford - I love to swim lengths - used to do this as a cool down after a 2-hour session of karate, just 8 or 10 years ago. Depending on the pool - I also used to enjoy walking in the water. Walking across the width of a quiet pool - brilliant exercise. It works you much harder than you think or feel.

Well, its HOT & HUMID here in NC which means I don't really enjoy getting outside to do exercise due to heat index warnings. That's why I invested in a big outdoor pool to help me fight against the "excuses" of summer exercise.
How do you use a pool to exercise? I have been working on increasing the number of laps I can swim around the pool. Then I use this handy floating thing I got at SAMS club that has handles that can wrap around my waist so I can do bike moves under water for laps around the pool that way. I also found some GREAT water aerobic floating dumbbells so now I am doing lower body and upper body strength exercises using the water to help keep proper form and its resistance. I mix up what I do each time I'm in the pool and am working on getting to 100 reps of each exercise before the summer ends.
Share your ideas- I need what I can get to keep those excuses at bay- I know you can also use a beach ball to do the strength moves.
