i'll be building a spaceship for a fall festival, if that counts--gonna have lots of time plotting, lifting and hammering away to build it, but dunno how much exercise that'll give. though the calories burned through smiling when kids get freaked out in my cthuhlu getup might be worth it some more (hee hee)

We don't really have fall here, either, not until mid-October anyway, and then it quickly turns into what south Texas considers winter... Still, a cool front (taking us into the low 90s daytime, high 60s to low 70s at night) just came through, and it feels glorious compared to the triple digits that have plagued us for over a month! It does make me excited about fall! In late October, my son and I will be running a 5K to benefit the Thanksgiving dinner for the homeless here in town. We did it together last year, too, except he ran it in 27 minutes and it took me 40, haha! I'm sure it'll be something similar to that this year. I also have a mud run coming up on December 1st, and I'm going ot try to get another run in sometime in October or November!
Fair opened Friday for 2 weeks.....fun and lots of walking ....thankfully fair food is yucky to me

What kind of fun get outside activities are happening near you that have your interest peaked to give it a shot? For me in NC I cannot wait for the humidity to take a break so we can go as a family to possible town festivals to do some walking, looking, and sampling. Anyone considering training for a 5k/ 10k/ or fun run for the fall? What steps are you taking to get yourself geared up and perpared for the challenge?
