It's dreadfully hot here. Exercising early is the only option. I have been walking with a friend alongside the river, where the trail is shady until 9:00 a.m. We have been walking 3.5 miles each day. That makes a good start to the day!

I should probably stay out of this chat but ' what the heck', it is not hot here and we cherish every hr. of sunshine. We do a lot of hiking sometimes twice a day to keep the dog happy and yesterday for the first time I went into the lake. It was so cold that I only went in to the top of my legs but my friend actualy swam. I hope he is okay today. We are going again this afternoon.

I care for my ailing 88 year old mother which keeps me home much more, so bought a treadmill and walk and run 27 miles a week. I try to get to the aqua aerobics class 3 x week but that is getting difficult to get away
In GOD We Trust Choose To Lose "If you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired." -General George S Patton, U.S.Army, 1912 Olympian
For me the past 2 weeks I have set myself daily goals when I wake up especially on my days off from work. This is getting me outdoors despite the NC heat & humidity and I am trying to be smart by getting out there early in the mornings but I don't stop my activity until I reach my set goal. I do make sure to keep 3 water jugs chilling in the fridge daily and as I empty one and go to grab a cold one I refill the empty for easy grab & gos to keep hydrated.
I have revamped my entire veggie garden, done yardwork, moved a 4 ft x 6 ft deck across the yard to my son's newly acquired shed and painted it. I have taken on painting the large shed which is 12 ft x 12 ft x 15 ft high. Today we took on building the deck to this larger shed despite the 106 degrees outside. My muscles are very fatigued but I am so HAPPY with the results and proud of myself for staying active and making a noticeable difference in my surroundings plus keeping to grabbing healthy snacks and water.
