yes- I love the articles. Even if I know something about the subject, it is good to have a refresher. Also, they hooked me into the sp exercise videos, which I have been using or at least referring to for ideas (and proper form) in my own workouts.
Those health articles are just the best. I am only able to read 2 or three a day but it adds up and I am so much better informed than I was before. Heart disease is endemic in my family so I need to stay informed and follow the best advice. Mom died at 72 and Dad at 83 so we will see if doing the right thing makes a difference. My poor kids have a strong diabetes tendency on their dad's side so they have even more to worry about.
"The world is one country and mankind its citizens" one of the many truths spoken by Baha'u'llah and "Love is the light that guideth in darkness, the living link that uniteth God with man, that assureth the progress of every illumined soul."
Yes, I usually read those articles even though a lot of the info I have heard before. Sometimes its good to get a "refresher". Heart disease runs in my family so I am trying really hard to do what I am supposed to do to stay healthy; and my husband has a very weak heart so we are very careful to follow the diet/exercise guidelines for him.
Hi, I was wondering how many members take the time to read any of the SparkPeople exercise & health articles to help with their own knowledge. Do you? I am trying hard to use the resources available here to learn not only for myself but in concerns with my aging parents and their health issues. Are you finding it hard to find articles on health issues or exercise issues & limitations to get a better understanding on something happening within your own scope of the world?
Me- I am thinking of finding Dr. Birdie's SP page to ask about concerns with heart disease and cholesterol. My mom has had a rapid increase in cholestrol which has accelerated artery blockages. This is a big concern since she is only 65 and now I have a genetic pre-disposition for possibly following this path. What about you?
