I do stretches or standing calf raises /arm circles /wall pushups or any # of other moves wherever I happen to be .... most recently at a casino in Las Vegas. It doesn't matter if I'm in line at the bank or the grocery store. It feels good & who knows ~ maybe it will inspire someone to get active in their life.
As for people's opinions ..... my thought is: Do I know this person & do they have some trait or characteristic I want to emulate? Their opinion would somewhat matter to me. You have to value yourself for the healthy things you're doing over what might be going thru someone else's head.
I used to feel self*conscious about so many things but the huge turning point for me was when my dH brought me over to Hawaii for 3 weeks where he was posted for his job. It was either put on my swimsuit and enjoy the beach/ocean or sit in the hotel room. After just a few days of getting outside & braving perceived scorn amongst the young, tanned, slender folks, I got over myself!

Not so much now that I'm retired...but when I was stuck behind a desk I frequently would get up and do some stretches and toe-touches (to work out the kinks!).

While waiting for my dh's Dr. appt. to end, I did 10 min of leg extensions and stretches in the reception area. I frequently do these or calf raises in church while waiting for start of service, also standing abduction, adduction. These are good while traveling, too, at rest stops, anytime waiting in line.

Sure, just yesterday while taking groceries to the car I was doing curls and side raises with the heavy bags..calf raises while standing in line..

frequently - often we have to wait for a table to enjoy our post-long-run breakfast, and to keep from getting stiff and sore, we frequently stretch in waiting areas, parking lots, on cars, wherever!

Yup I have especially when I'm out in the liquor store working I will do push up against the counter calf raises some bicep curls with the liquor bottles I have even zumba while working in there I'm sure when the bosses watch the security tapes they think I'm crazy

Yup, I do calf raises and bicep curls with lightish parcels when I'm in the queue at the post office . So that's most weeks!

Hi, I was wondering how many of us out there have gotten enough self esteem and determination in really "fitting the fitness in" during hectic schedules. Have you ever done stretches or strength moves while waiting in line at a store? How about at work if you work in the public- it could even be during your breaks or lunch time?
I can say I've done calf raises, ham string curls, and even those hip abductors at random times. Who cares what others think- heck you might inspire someone else to move.
