I USE SMALL DUMBBELLS AND DO BALANCE EXERCISES AT HOME, BUT DO CARDIO on the elliptical trainer at our local clinic's exercise room, which is free, tho it accepts donations. I also use their larger dumbbells. And, I bought a pass to our college pool and use it 2ce a week, when it is open. Plus, I walk twice a week to shop in town and back, 1 mile. This works well when everything is open and none of it is expensive.

I walk everyday to and from work-24 to 45 min each way I also have a tread mill for when I get rides

I run at home on the treadmill. I play squash at the gym and I have been toying with weights at the gym. I walk outside, and I am thinking of doing a 6-week kickboxing class at the local community center.

At home. I have a treadmill, stationary bike, weight bench w/weights, and kettlebells in various weights. Sometimes I use a DVD of yoga or low-impact aerobics for variety.

I am thinking of taking a Zumba class ... but I've been afraid I won't be able to keep up!

Other than walking outside or at the mall, I use dvds, sp exercises, Wii Fit Plus, weights and a recumbent bike.

I take water aerobics and aqua Zumba at the gym. I use a personal trainer once a week for strength training. I do cardio and strength at the gym or sometimes at home.

For the most part I work out at home. I simply can't afford a gym or classes right now.

I do my workouts at home. the closest gym is 15 or more miles away, and there are no fitness classes where i live. just walk in the desert.

I love the gym. I take group classes there and every now and then do some strength training.
I have worked out at home before, but I get bored. Need people around me to stay motivated.

I love working out at home first thing in the morning. I have an awesome cardio machine in the Bowflex Treadclimber family. Great work out and it starts the day of right.

I work out with my Wii Fit Plus every day and I go to our gym 3 times min a week.
Our gym is affordable where I live.

I love to change things ups so by combining the two I can stay on track.

I love the gym, but since retiring 3 years ago I can't afford a membership, so I walk in the fall and winter, and swim the rest of the year. When I remember I'll do weights, but haven't been very regular with that.

emoticon I used to join a gym and faithfully make my payments, then wonder why I was NOT losing weight?....My friend advised me to ACTUALLY GO to the gym for it to have any effect. lol emoticon Raising 7 children there was no time.
Now they are all grown and I exercise with a group mat the gym in the pool 3x week for 60 minutes....then at home alternete 3 days 30 minutes with a vidio workout and walk 3 to 5 miles emoticon emoticon emoticon

I have spent more than I want to admit on gyms, weight loss centers, and the like. Then I don't go. Now I limit myself to working out at home or walking. The only excuse I can make is to myself.

Which do you prefer to keep you motivated to workout weekly- at home, a gym membership, or in some kind of fitness classes or group walking/cardio, or even a team sport?

For me the thing that works best in my schedule, budget, and personality is to workout at home and every now and then to go for group walks. My workout time is my ME time where I focus on myself and health, listen to my body and know how hard to push, and do some thinking. I am just not a gym membership type of gal.
