There are some great suggestions here. Aren't Spark people just the best for encouragement and real useful ideas. Kudos for all. I have nothing to add, the ideas here are so good.
"The world is one country and mankind its citizens" one of the many truths spoken by Baha'u'llah and "Love is the light that guideth in darkness, the living link that uniteth God with man, that assureth the progress of every illumined soul."
My husband uses nose strips to help him sleep without snoring - when I'm stopped up I put one on my nose - its amazing how much better I breathe! And yes to some walking, but be sure at the same time to get lots of extra rest - that's the fastest cure. And I agree on the Netti Pot - my daughter (with two school age kids she gets more colds than we do) swears by it.
So sorry to hear you are under the weather. I remember reading an article here on spark that said it is okay to exercise if it is a head cold....just take it slow. Now if it travels into the chest area, then you need to rest up for a couple of days before you slowly get back into your routine. I hope this helps.
Hot tea helps me feel better. And soup is good too; the hot vapors and the sodium, in the soup, is just what the body needs.
You must be careful how you walk and where you go, for there are those following you who will set their feet where yours are set. -Robert E. Lee
have you ever considered a Neti Pot? I swear by them, a friend told me and now I tell everyone! just google it, it will give directions and different kinds, about 10-12 dollars with the saline solutions, lasts a long time.
Hi Team, Last week my son was battling a cold and my husband's been battling one too. I've done my best to keep the house sanitary and scrubbing all surfaces. Now I've got some major head congestion and I think it may have progressed to a sinus infection. My energy level has about bottomed out. I try and listen to my body and do what I can in forms of exercise even if its just walking the dogs.
You should have seen me trying to do my yoga breathing through my nose this morning. The thing is I got my workouts in and felt energized during those times but the congestion keeps throttling back and kicking my butt.
Any suggestions on how to contend with head congestion and fitting a workout in by doing proper breathing?
