when it is warm i can spend hours outside in my garden. i have a workout area in my basement that i use later at night or when the weather gets bad.

For any equestrians out there this is the best time of the year to ride. The bugs are gone, leaves crumble under the horse's hooves, and you can bundle up to keep warm. Go bareback and give your legs a nice strength workout.

I keep eyeing the leaves still in our trees and wooded lot and am waiting for more to fall before taking the rake in hand and getting them up. That's the 1st task, 2nd will be dumping them in my garden bed and tilling them in.
How about decorating your home for the upcoming holidays? Its gotten a lot colder here in Jacksonville, NC and I am feeling the urge to bake, shop & wrap, and decorate not only the inside of my home but the outside. First comes yard clean up then the creative juices happen to decorate the outside a little different each year with what I have.
I like walking the pup around the nearby neighborhoods and trail riding when I can. Best time the year without bugs and the colors are awesome.

DH and I have a huge veggie garden with a flower garden to match. There is tons of garden clean up to do in the fall - yesterday's activity was cutting down hostas and raking leaves for almost 3 hours....whew!

How about this one- scrapping the windshield and windows of your car in the mornings and stomping about to keep warm!
Suzymarc, thanks for the reminder that my car needs a wax before the winter weather hits.
I am working on running farther now that the weather has cooled off. Couldn't seem to build up my endurance when it was 80+ out there.
There are 47 perennial plants out in my yard waiting to be planted, and plenty of other yard work to do to get ready for winter - raking, mulching, pulling up the tomatoes, and I'm planning to build some raised veggie beds with cinder blocks, so that should be quite a workout. Oh, and 2 cords of wood needing to be split and stacked!

Washing your car yourself with some good old fashioned elbow grease and scrubbing. I actually just went outside in your gorgeous fall weather and scrubbed my car. It needs to get vacuumed too before I head to work tonight.

Here's a good one- Fall house cleaning, I am talking about some serious scrub downs, changing of curtains, washing windows, bed linens and blankets. Yes, I took this on today and I am so proud of myself for getting it all done from the ceiling to the floors.
Garage saling. My neighbor hood has a HUGE multifamily garage sale twice a year spring and fall. This saturday is the fall one. It is dozens of blocks and hundreds of families you can walk for hours. You couldn't drive if you wanted to it is much to crowded we can't get out of our drive way LOL. Want me to pick you up anything?

anyone else do gardening? its time for me to till over the summer garden and start adding in natural additives like those leaves that will drop. How about planting spring bulbs?

I so wish we had apple orchards near us so I could go picking since from my blogs folks will know I don't mind putting in the labor for good home grown produce- alas no apple orchards I can find in coastal NC
How about raking those leaves as an activity, that burns some serious calories if you keep at it and have your tunes playing.
Walking at the beach is still my favorite - all the crowds are gone and the boardwalk is much less crowded. It's my favorite time of year for enjoying the local attractions in what is, in summer, a humanity-packed tourist town.

With Temps. in the 40's to 50's like to nature trail walk around the area. Our community has t areas devoted to walking. Like to watch the leaves turn, sides of paths are tree lined.
