Did 10 wall pushups yesterday, but only 8 today (used the 4th stair from the bottom, much harder). I like LOGOULD's ideas. I'll try a few at different times using my desk while I'm in the office.

Great challenge! There is alway a minute or two during the day to knock out a few pushups. Even several times a day. By the end of the day, add 'em all up and you could have 100 or more. Try alternating a few pushups...take a break with several situps, then back to pushups. You'll be surprised how many of each you can knock out in just five short minutes. Who says you don't have time for fitness?!?!?!

My back tends to "go out" when I exercise if I don't restrict exercise that may put a strain on my lower back. But, when I don't exercise enough it exacerbates my efforts to lose weight at a quicker pace. Doing the modified pushups will aid me in increasing the types of exercises I do in addition to giving me hope that my jiggly arms will tighten up. I have hope!

Did 5, using the side of my car instead of a wall. This was after walking 4.5 miles with my Nordic poles, so hopefully, I'll do much better tomorrow (no walking first). emoticon

I like this challenge, reminder that I can do wall pushups, and i will try doing at the kitchen counter. thanks for the correct form. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon
Can't get on the floor because of my knees, but being told of other exercises that will work without getting on the floor is helpful.

I was able to do 8 modified "girl" pushups. The bigger challenge was my cat walking under me while I was doing them (she feels she must "help" me do everything).

Great challenge. I have never been able to do full pushups or even "girl" pushups and after some medical issues, I'm not even sure I'll ever be able to do them. Wall pushups, though, are too easy. I never thought of doing them against something between the floor and the wall. I'll use the counter or my desk until I can get down on my knees long enough to use the coffee table.
Thanks for the inspiration.

Karen

I'm up for the challenge! When I did my measurements this month I lost inches on everything but my arms and my strength training only works my arms once a week! I know I can do girly push-ups but there's no way that I can do regular... I try everyweek and I fall... lol... I'm so glad I'm not the only one! That makes me feel so much better! Do we have to post how many we do everyday like in other challenges? When does this one start?

Hmmm...I'll have to figure out where I fit on the pushup continuum. I know that I can push UP, but I think it doesn't count if you collapse down! I think some of my yoga, like Upward-Facing Dog, is pretty similar, and maybe the Plank and Cobra, but these are positions you hold, not move through.

Make sure they're triceps pushups if you want to deal with the jiggles. Hands close together, elbows pointing back.

Whatever pushups you do, don't get discouraged. Five years ago I couldn't even do 1 pushup in good form. You've got to start somewhere!

I can say that my BATWINGS are slowly disappearing!! I do pushups on the side of the pool, but I will add a few here at home for good measure. The only problem I have ever had doing pushups in the past, is that it made my chest hurt more than my arms, and I DO NOT NEED TO BULK UP IN THAT AREA if you know what I mean!! LOL!!

Keep Sparkling!! Hugs! Shannon

Are you tired of the jiggle arms? You bet!

This challenge is a push-up challenge. But before you freak out, hear me out. Most of us cannot do push-ups, right? So I challenge us all to start. For 7 days, let's do push-ups. Here are the rules...

Day 1 - do as many push-ups or modified push-ups as you can
Days 2 - 7 - do as many push-ups or modified push-us as the day before, plus 1

Beginner: If you are like me,you can't do a push up. But if you have a wall, you can do a modified push-us. Simply stand 1-2 ft from the wall, and lean forward until you are doing push-up motion but standing up.

Beginner + If the wall method above is too easy for you, then do a push-up motion leaning on the kitchen counter, or something is about 3/4 your height.

Beginner ++ If the kitchen counter is too easy, how about the coffee table, or something lower, near the height of your knees.

Intermediate: If the beginner push-up is too easy for you, then do "girl push-ups" on the floor with your knees also on the floor

Advanced: do regular push-ups (by the way, if you are advanced I'm sooooo jealous).
