yes, and I love it. I got a weighed hoop and it took me a month to learn, but now I crank up the tunes and love it!

I can! I went to a craft fair this afternoon and the Hula Hoop Lady was there. I tried a hoop of the appropriate size and could use it right away. She doesn't take MasterCard or I'd have bought one right then. (She lives in the next town over from me and gave me her card so I can arrange to meet her and even choose my favorite colors to decorate it.)

Can I use a hula hoop? No. Does it stay up? No. Do I have one? Yes.

I have a kid's hoop from Walmart. It doesn't work for me because it's too small. I've done some research online, and I need a bigger hoop.

There's a local lady who custom makes hula hoops. I was hoping she'd be at the park before our community band concert this evening. She met on Tuesday evenings at the park last year. I'd like to get a hoop sized for me.

Maybe I'll try the imaginary hoop challenge tomorrow. It's getting late tonight.

It's funny how it was so easy to do as a kid but if you try to do a real one today for some reason it just doesn't work as well. I would think that having bigger hips and a bigger butt would help it stay up! Not so much... emoticon

Ha, it is funny that you mention this. I was just thinking of buying one at Toys R Us and doing 10 minutes of hula hooping a day as a form of indoor cardio. Notice I said thinking about it...have not bought one yet. I used to hula hoop a lot as a child.

I loved doing hula hooping as a kid but tried it older and low and behold I am not as supple as I used to be nor as thin. I will try an imaginary hoop and I think when I get to walmart I will look for a real one. That used to be so much fun. I want a skipping rope too. Lordie was that ever a long time ago.

Hula hoops are still being made. I saw some at Walmart the other day. Also, there are weighted hula hoops that are used for exercise. I just googled hula hoops & saw that walmart.com sells the weighted ones also, they come in 3-lb & 5-lb. I may get one - to add to all the other stuff I have.

Did super hula hoop for 6 minutes on the Wii Fit Plus.
Don't know whether I could keep a REAL hoop off the ground, but I do this exercise on the Wii every time I use it... and like to imagine that inches are falling off as I hula that imaginery hoop!

I was just reading an article yesterday here on SP about playing stuff we used to play as kids. I never was very good at the hula hoop, but I found that I wanted to try again. I think I am going to head out this week and get me a hula hoop and a skipping rope. I will do the imaginary thing too.

I loved the hula hoop as a kid! They came out in the late 50's when I was a mere child. We used to have contests in the neighborhood with them.

You can buy weighted hula hoops online. They're supposed to be a really good workout.

I'll have to do it with a virtual hoop because I don't have a real one.

Well...back in the day, I seem to remember I could. Nowadays, it's strictly the one on the Wii, which is more of a workout than I thought it would be!

Can you use a HULA HOOP? Will it stay up? Do you have one?

Here's a challenge for today:

Swing an imaginary hula hoop 10 times to the right, then 10 times to the left.

Let's go!
