I hope you will post more. I can do some more active exercises now, but began to encorporate chair exercises early, and still can talk myself into doing some of them when doing anything else is just too daunting. I fight fatigue as well as joint deformity from RA. I have to keep moving to avoid losing mobility, but am sometimes so tired that I can't get started. Chair exercises are helping me build upper body strength. They also help me deal with my restless legs so I can sleep. Always looking for new ideas. Thanks for the links. emoticon

Thank you for sharing. I have thought of looking for them but jut don't take the time. I have seen others that are really "pooped" after a good workout sitting!

I would like to mention that we have people of all ages, from the 20's up to the older members in our team - The Chair Exercise Team - who not only do Chair Exercise in its many forms - both strength an aerobic but who enjoy and are losing weight and gaining mobility and flexibility from them - as I have myself!!
If you doubt this is possible - see my blog with pictures - A Team for Everybody - The Chair Exercise Team.

There are a plethora of great exercise resources on Sparkpeople, but there are a lot of occasions when ideas for other forms of exercise might be wanted. Chair Exercise offers this alternative .

If you are mobility challenged you might be finding that “main stream” exercises are not suitable for you, they are either too difficult, require flexibility or balance that you don’t have or are too advanced
If you are using the exercises in a hotel when travelling or while watching the kids, or to add variety to your program - then there are ideas for you too!!
Since reasons for using Chair Exercises and physical problems can vary greatly, I can only present ideas to you. You will have to select the exercises that are suited to your circumstance.
If you click on the links they should take you to the relevant sections. If the link won’t work I suggest you copy and paste the address into your browser.

If anyone requires ideas for a particular reason – I suggest you contact me and I will try to point you in a direction that helps.

A very important muscular group – are the Core Muscles – they support the internal organs and stabilise the body.
