In a million years, I never would have dreamed that at 233 pounds with severe fibromyalgia, osteoarthritis, and gout, I would walk a 10k.
I wouldn't believe it if I hadn't been there to experience it for myself. I would have scoffed at the mere thought of breaking my all-time walking record of 6 miles at about 40 pounds lighter minus the gout, especially at my weight and fitness level. I set the record in 2009 after walking almost every day for months. I only did it once and I was never able to match it.....that is, until today. I joined the virtual race in April to walk 10k and I decided today to go for it. I have been walking and training for 5k, but I just wanted to see if I could do it.
It took me over 2 hours to walk the 6.2 miles, but I managed to pull it off.
