You made me look at my counter just now. It says I only have 81 steps in. How is that even posible? I've cleaned the kitchen, went to the library, and did a load of wash plus the dishes. rRRrr......emoticon

emoticon Okay, I just created a one week challenge for those who want to aim for doing 5,000 steps daily or a certain number of days this week. Sorry for the delay.
I will post a new one next week too. When you feel like you'd like me to increase the challenge by say 500 steps more each day, give me a holler.
Enjoy.

Glad to have you adding your steps into the step team challenge topic GLORIAB73, PLEASE everyone interested in doing a one week challenge all your steps count towards our goal if you will just visit the topic and add them in. You don't need big numbers to post, the idea is to see as a team if we can get to a goal with each of us contributing what we can in our daily steps.

I will get on creating a one week challenge for those interested.

MAGGIE165, if that is what you can currently do then its a great starting point for you. When looking for a pedometer I recommend the OMRON brand and I know you can get it online at a good price from Walmart.

I will put a one week challenge up next week, how does that sound guys? I could put one up for this week for those who have pedometers and have been keeping track. Let me know.

You can count me in! I walk every day and usually do 2 miles in an hour--a little slow. Today I did 2 miles in 40 minutes and I am happy. My pedometer said it was 2000 steps and my friend's said 2.12 miles.

Suzy, this sounds like a great idea to me as I'm not an avid walker but I do wear a pedometer daily. Some days I reach 5000 steps and other days no but I'd join in this if you put it a one week challenge.

I'm already in the one where we put in our steps daily to add to the team goal and we're doing great there! Today I walked the inside perimeter of a big store plus got groceries and that added up!

I'd like to join for the 5000 steps. Will get a pedometer. I have no idea how many steps I take probably very few, but sounds like a good challenge.

I can only walk 1 mile in 30 minutes to date I need to get a pedometer. Is this ok to start to get up to 5000 steps?

Hi BIGOLEDIVA,
How about I set up a one week challenge for all those interested to do at least 5,000 steps per day? That way those interested but not avid walkers will have starting platform to work on increasing their step count at a slow & steady pace?

Let me know if this sounds good.

How bout making a commitment to getting in at least 5000 steps per day? For me that's between 30 and 40 minutes straight on a pedometer- but I also usually get in 2000 to 3000 just doing normal daily activities- so to reach my goal I really only have to get out there 15 mins or so. Once I start I usually go much longer then that- but just getting out there is where I procrastinate. Anyone else interested in joining me?
