I love the Firm, and I have several of their fitness systems. I also have resistance bands, hand weights, and yoga blocks. I'm increasing my activity slowly but steadily so it becomes habit. I have found I need/like variety.

I have DBs, a weight machine, an assortment of resistance bands, stationary bike & a stepper.

I rarely use the resistance bands. So I'll attempt to incorporate those more into my ST.

the only equipment I have are a yoga ball, resistance bands, the posture ring thing that's about the size of a steering wheel (I don't know the name of it) and some 2 lb weight balls and I love the workouts that go with them. Unfortunately, I currently have glass on my floors that I've been trying to get cleaned up completely for several months so I cannot use the ball in my home.

Okay, I am reading through the posts- now who is dusting off that equipment and trying to slowly or consistently add it into your fitness routine? What have you been doing?

I have a treadmill, jump rope and free weights. The free weights collect dust. I also swim.. occassionally. I'm trying to boost up the use of the pool, treadmill and jump rope. Going to the pool tonight!

The treadmill. It calls me by my first name and beckoned me everytime I go to the gym. I need to try other equipment but I seem addicted.

Today, I made it a point to use my BowFlex to do my upper body strength workout. I can now handle doing my current exercises with 45 lbs. on each arm side for 2 sets of 15. Time to increase the weight and get that upper body strength higher.

I don't know that I haven't really been using any of my exercise equipment per se, though I tend to do outdoor activities in the summer and fall and I tend to do dvds, the gym, and the Wii fit more in the winter when I'm stuck inside. So while I haven't used my Wii fit or my exercise dvds a great deal recently, I'm not in a hurry to do so.

I have, however, been neglecting yoga. So I will start doing yoga again.

After reading through your comments I noticed something I stopped doing. I haven't been utilizing my Wii balance board and fitting in some Wii fit plus yoga poses.
So starting yesterday I set myself a new fastbreak goal to do the Wii yoga at least 3 times a week for at least 10 minutes. I know from experience it helps with my posture and balance and is great at helping my flexibility.

I've using the Wii for doing my shape boxing as added cardio with Gold's Gym Cardio Workout for some added full body moves.

Today, for strength training I am hitting my garage to use the BowFlex to do higher weights and proper form compared to my dumbbells and body weight strength exercises I've done earlier in the week.

I've been using my Wii with Wii Fit and Wii sports. I love to play tennis against the computer. I play both players on my team, so I get a better workout.

I also have been using dumbbells and stability ball.

I have begun to go to the gym again, twice this week, and have been walking on the treadmill for cardio.

I use the Wii for cardio, hand weights for strength training, and my Merrill shoes for hiking.

I have a treadmill and a rowing machine gathering dust. I'll try to get back on the treadmill this week. I don't think I can use the rowing machine, although I love it; I hurt my back using it two years ago.

Yesterday, I used my BowFlex machine to do my lower body strength exercises. Today when doing my full body strength exercises I incorporated my entire variety of push ups in and did 30 reps of each kind. Thinking next week I should just do 1 kind of push up each day and see how many I can do before my arms are fatigued and my core is shaky. emoticon emoticon

I use everything they have here - treadmill, rowing machine, bike, elliptical trainer, stair stepper and just plain walking. But I just came off a round of Chemo. and am having to start from scratch to build up some strength again. My favorite is all the Wii sports we also have.

I have a stationery bike and a treadmill...I am using
the bike mostly right now because the treadmill causes my back to hurt. I would love to sell it and
get a elliptical...I think it would be much easier on
my joints.
I also have some small dumbells, which I should use
more.

There are two things I rarely use-the step and the kettle bell. I did order a book and a dvd for the kettle bell and am excited to learn what to do with it and not hurt myself while doing it.

The step, I played with for a while then stopped and need to make a commitment to use it twice a week.

I do have some DVDs I don't use but the main reason is they are beyond my current level.

I use most of my equipment regularly: barbell, dumbbells, treadmill, exercise bands, aerobic step, stability ball, exercise dvds, heart rate monitor (I use this all the time and it is very motivating), squat rack, yoga mat, of course cross training sneakers and my running sneakers.

What I haven't used in a while is the Pilates ring (which I need to find out what types of exercises to do with it), my Bosu, bicycle and wavemaster.

I will have to work these into my routines - I will search for exercises for the Pilates Ring (unless someone has some suggestions) and begin using the Bosu for balance again! I would like to start riding my bike at least 1 day a week when the whether is cooler and I will work on getting some kicks and jabs on my wavemaster. I will not do all of these every week because then it will become overwhelmingly too much.

I USE A SWIMMING POOL & MY ROLLING WALKER REGULARLY. My bowflex is unfortunately gathering dust.I actually enjoy using it when I can, & it gets results, but unfortunately I can not use it unassisted, I am not flexible enough. I used to use the leg lift once set up, but my DH moved it into a room too short to accommodate that add-on section. As winter closes in around here, I will try to enlist his help to use it for strength training. Until then, it is pool or outdoor walking for me!

Hi Team,
Okay after reviewing the other post on what health equipment & tools we all have surround ourselves with here's the next question:
Which equipment/tools do you use on a regular basis?

Name one that is actually collecting dust & suffering from neglect?

Now the CHALLENGE:
From the list of equipment/tools you have not been using regularly I want you to pick just one and start doing baby steps to add it back into your healthy habits for the rest of the month. It might just be what's needed to jumpstart our routines.

Here is my equipment/tools I use regularly:
Fitness equipment: cross trainer sneakers, pedometer, stability ball, 5 lb. dumbbells, elliptical trainer, Wii system & fitness games, and Fit,Firm, & Fired Up dvd strength workouts.

Kitchen tools: measuring cups & spoons, digital food scale

I only use my scale to weigh in weekly or biweekly and take my measurements 1 time near the end of the month.

My challenge: I will start to do small steps to add using my BowFlex system in the garage to my strength workouts. My goal is to alternate days so I mix up how I work my muscles to increase my strength. So, my aim is to use the BowFlex 2 times a week Tues & Thurs) and the other days I use body weight or stability ball with dumbbells doing my SP strength exercises for specific body areas (Mon, Wed., & Fri). emoticon emoticon emoticon
