Monthly goal: 250,000 steps
Monthly focus: Ditch the soda

I didn't quite meet my goal. I ended up with 204,642 steps. Better than I expected with no exercise for two weeks while I was fighting bronchitis. Not so good on the soda thing either, but I made some progress.

I actually went over my goal. I set a goal of 90 minutes of cardio a week which would add up to 360 minutes per month. My actual total is 560 minutes.

Wow I am amazed at how wonderful you have been at logging in and reporting your success. Each person deserves some applause for sticking to it and moving forward!

If you haven't finished recording your steps for the month of September, please try and do so plus I'd appreciate the tallying up.

To show I practice what I preach here are my totals for September: Monthly Steps= 540,655
Monthly Miles=281.42
Yes, I stuck with my focus and not only met my step goal which I thought was pretty high, but went over it by 15,655 steps.

Onward to October and keeping the momentum up. This week was a rough one for me since it rained from Monday to yesterday, but I did my best and that's what matters in the long run.

Keep on stepping and believing you can reach your goals. Who is stepping into October with me?

WOOHOO!!! My step goal for September was 250,000 and I actually tracked 312,055!!! For my short little legs that's approximately 125 miles!!!

Since I know exactly how many steps I will be taking to get into bed, I can finish my entries for this month.

emoticon I didn't realize I walked that much! I was worried that I wasn't going to make my goal! Turns out I totally underestimated myself. I went over my goal by over 100,000 steps! I never new I walked that much.

Hi, I am very new to this team. My dogs and I walk almost every day in the city park that backs my house. I just ordered a pedometer, and am waiting for it to come this week. Hi Team,
I finally made it through our growing number of participants in this September Pedometer tracking challenge- You are all amazing and thanks so much for joining in.

I see we've got a few team members who either due to physical ability or budget restraints cannot or do not have pedometers BUT sure have the spirit needed to join in.

Here is my idea: For all team members who fit the description above why not join the September challenge but focus on an activity you can do regularly each day and report your progress, here in this thread. If you want you can join the challenge but just concentrate on a focus point and report in.

If you interested just create your post here and start tracking. If enough of you are interested I could create another September Challenge that has us working towards a list of healthy choice goals. Give me your input, I am all ears. emoticon

Hi Team,
I have finally made it through all our participants. I want to add something though.
FOR ANYONE wanting to join this challenge but for some reason you don't have a pedometer or are currently unable to move in such a way. Yet you still have the desire to be a part of this one- Please contact me by Spark mail.
I say for those who need an amended post- Set yourself a activity goal and a focus point for the month of September at the top of the post. Use the same format I created at the bottom. Its easy just highlight, copy and paste it into your reply- Voila your post is created. Then you log in and report how you did each day at getting to your activity goal and focus point.

This way you are still moving forward in you healthy journey to improve and be positive. We can then as a team cheer, support, and motivate you during the month.

I LOVE All the ENTHUSIASM you guys have shown! Remember to move forward, log in those steps, and work towards your focus. WE will all succeed at the end of the month.

My SEPTEMBER total step goal is to do: 15,000 steps minimum 5 days/week, 10,00 combined on the weekends(so at least 370,000 steps)but I also want to do at least 3 miles/day average on the bicycle.

I would luv 2 join dis challenge but can't really walk much do 2 my surgery n I don't have a pedometer. Hopefully I might b able 2 join once my walking is better.

I have not been using a pedometer and have not been very deligent about walking....in other words, not really trying. And I am a bit anxious about accepting this challenge but feel it is an important step for me.

I will start wearing a pedometer as soon as I locate mine or go buy one. I will track for a day or two to get an idea of what I can do and then set actual goals.

I am grateful for the leaders who plan and monitor these challenges. I am also thankful for all the sparkies who offer support and prod me onward.

sorry I won't be able to participate in this challenge since I can't walk much, due to arthritis in both feet. Makes walking or standing very long very painful. If I could possibly figure out how to change my swimming lap miles into steps, then I might consider working this challenge. oh well, everything isn't for everyone. good luck all

First let me preface this by saying "Thank you'....I do find myself paying more attention to my activity more than I was previous, so keeping the step count is good for me. Haven't closed out my August count yet but I expect it to be around 130,000 steps for the entire month with the daily average having been "upped" due to weekly berry-picking expeditions. That season is now ending, so will be looking for other ways to up my steps.

My SEPTEMBER total step goal is to do: 525,000 steps for the entire month.

For the month of SEPTEMBER I want to focus on: managing my ME time better and adding new forms of exercise into my routines to keep my body guessing & the pounds or inches coming off.

Hi Team, its time to get us all moving and finding motivation where ever we can. So if you've been wearing a pedometer or just bought on- get them on.

My recommendation is YES, put it on as soon as you are up and out of bed and don't take it off until you know you're done for the night and getting ready to hit the sack. If your pedometer model saves & stores a number of days total step count, then just check in and enter your data when you can (mine stores data for 7 days with display function). If it helps motivate and keep you more accountable to huddle in each day and add your steps, Go For It.

Just work on moving each day, and set your own personal challenge.

This thread is to record your steps/miles (if your pedometer is program to track that too) for the month of Septemeber. Set yourself either a total daily, weekly, or monthly step goal and a focus point to work on.

Copy and past the following. Then each day or every couple of days come to the same list and EDIT it, putting in your steps for that day. Do not start another Reply screen, just edit the one you started. Showing others our steps should help us keep accountable and motivated to move to our own beat!
You will be surprised how fast those steps add up by the end of the month and how much you accomplished!
