Just tap/bottled water or carbonated water with only fruit flavoring (no sweeteners, etc) added to it. My tea ends up being above & beyond what I consume each day

Water definitely and my home brewed plain tea. I like strong flavors and since I don't add anything to it, it's the same as drinking lemon or lime water in my eyes.

I track anything that is sugar free and decaf. Milk, water, crystal light, 100% juice, decaf tea/coffee, diet and caffeine free soda, etc.

only water even though Spark article says you may count milk, juice,and non*caffeine teas/sodas I feel I'm better off not using them for my water goal

I count cold tap water from my fridge that is kept in my 2 32oz. water bottles (my constant companions in my home and on the road!). Occasionally I will add a Crystal Light single pack to a pint size bottle of water to just add some extra taste.

What a wonderful question! I have been wondering the same thing.

I drink more than 64 ounces of liquid a day. However, I find that too much water makes me sick - I get light headed and nauseated. I drink a mug (note not a 6oz cup) of coffee and a V-8 every morning, and after that the only liquid I drink is water based.

Crystal light is the foundation for my liquid consumption. I start with Crystal light and ice (1/2 and 1/2) as the Crystal Light goes down and ice melts, I continue to fill the glass with water and ice until it is clear. Then I re-add the Crystal Light and ice and continue the practice all day.

Hi guys,
I only track flat water. I hate water... The only way i can get it down is drinking it hot. I tried it with lemon or lime juice, cristal light or even with cinnamon in it but it gave me bladder inflammations. Not fun at all.
So, people think i drink it hot because of digestion problems or because i'm old !!! Well, neither of them are true, i just like drinking my water hot. The only times i drink it cold is when i run or exercise.

I track water, tea and coffee. I hate drinking water and can only manage to choke down 2 glasses a day. I drink tea a lot during the day. It is weak...my husband says I scare the water with a tea bag....so I have decided that it counts. My doctor says it is fine to count it as water so I guess I will continue to do so. I have bought a new insulated glass from Starbuck's that holds 16oz so I am hopeful that I will drink more if I can keep it cold enough.

I'm not a tea or coffee drinker, but I do drink diet sodas on occasion. That said - to me water is water or water with a squirt of citrus juice or water with Crystal Lite (the last I haven't done for about 6 months). Milk doesn't count, juice doesn't count, and sodas (or anything else that is carbonated) don't count.

I read (I'm pretty sure it was on SP) that you should count anything that is non-carbonated and has no sugar in addition to plain water. So with that, unsweetened tea and Vitamin Water Zero are counted in my water tracking.

For me it isn't a matter of water is the only source of water. For me, it is staying away from the extra empty calories. So if I concentrate on drinking my water and water only, AFTER I get my 8 cups in, will I splurge for the others with calories, etc.

This is a hot topic for me. I devoted an entire blog to ranting about this after doing the research.
As I said there, I will count anything I drink except grain alcohol! Coffee, tea, light beer, diet soda, sparkling water, and the research backs me up.

I only track plain water. I drink a lot of decaffeinated tea, but I figure that's just a bonus - I make sure I have at least 8 cups of straight water. And if I have coffee, I try to drink extra water.

Everyday drink three 20 oz. bottles of Propel flavored water, and a 20 oz. bottle of green tea. I have a cup of coffee on Sunday AM at church. I use other flavor packets in water for a change. I've never been one to drink much of anything other than colas, hot or ice tea in the past, but I'm doing much better now. My doctor is pleased since I'm not pre-diabetic anymore. (Have to ditch the cola folks !!!)

I mainly track plain water, but I count my morning tea, and if I have coffee I count that too. I don't think adding a little caffeine eliminates the water aspect of the drink. There is also water in lots of our fresh veggies and fruits, but I don't actually track it as such, just figure it's "extra" so it can't be bad!

I drink 12 oz of water with my pills thrice a day, one cup of coffee in the morning, water with lemon twice a day, half strength iced tea with stevia twice a day and MAYBE a flavored water once a day. The total comes to 14-16 cups of liquid a day as per doctor's instructions. I count it all as long as I don't get kidney stones.

I track water, seltzer, and unsweetened green tea. (I know, it's caffienated, but it has so many other health benefits I decided to track it as water.) I don't count any coffee, juice, or diet coke as water.

When I first started Sparkpeople I didn't drink any water at all - only coffee and diet coke. Once I started adding water to my day something really wonderful happened. All of a sudden, I could wear my contact lenses again. Before then, I hadn't been able to wear them for a couple of years because my eyes were too dry. So, on top of losing weight, I have another reason to feel better about how I look!

I track and count water or water flavored as long as it isn't caffeinated or with sugar in it. In all my years as WW staff, we were allowed to count decaf tea w/o sugar or sweeteners but only up to half our daily intake. The other half would have to be plain water. I found that my decaf sun tea, which is less strong, does not need sugar or sweeteners. I still will use diet caffeine-free colas but only allow myself one a day and the rest must be water.

I track EVERYTHING that passes my lips emoticon .
If I don't track other drinks (coffee, low sodium tomato juice, tea) with a meal, I track them as a snack.

But for my water intake I only track water... emoticon .
I get the 'recommended' 64 oz. most days.

Because my job is more physical than most (I clean and stock a convenience store overnight), I usually drink around 4 1-liter bottles of water to stay hydrated....so I usually only count water. But, I do sometimes count tea w/sweetener, if no water is available.

Only water, and not the tea or Diet Coke that I also drink. I've found that if I make room for water, then I will fit other beverages in as they work out. And I definitely feel better with 8 glasses in my system - no dry mouth and it's helped with managing cravings, etc, etc.

P.S. It helps to start out the day with a glass of water first thing. Then I've also had two more glasses in the first three hours of the day. Makes the remaining five a lot less of a challenge.

I only track water. When I first started drinking lots of water, I would have to use some crystal light and such to help me get it down, and I would track that. However, now it's just plain jane water.

I track only water as water. Anything else can be a bonus to my day, but I make sure I am getting in my 8 or mores glasses of the real thing each and every day emoticon . I can tell the difference on the days I start to fall behind on my water.

I count any clear liquid with zero calories or artificial sweetners. In other words I count my ice tea. My doctor says my fluid intake is above what I need to be consuming so I count my tea in

I track water, water with a squirt of lemon or lime juice, no-calorie iced tea, and diet soda (I rarely drink it, so I let myself track it). I do not track my multitudes of plain black coffee--too much caffeine.

I have several Rubbermaid plastic bottles that don't
have the chemical BHP in them that my DH found.
They each hold 20 oz of water. I drink 5 during the
day, not counting the one by my bed that I sip on
when I wake up.

I don't drink soda or tea
and I have one mug of coffee daily, but it doesnt go
into my water count of 12.5 cups per day.

I usually only drink plain water or water with lime or lemon juice. Occasionally I'll have herbal tea without caffeine or sugar but I don't think to track it!

JUST water. i have never heard a professional say a suirt of citrus in it is bad, but i have been told no coffee, tea or drink additives (unless its non caffeine herbal tea.) so i stick with water, and have other stuff i just dont count it!

I only track plain water I don't track the coffee or green tea. I am not a fan of soft drinks or juices. I have this very large containers that holds the water for the day and I drink until it is gone.

I track plain water and iced tea if it has no sugar, caffeine or sweetener in it. I like mine plain.
Lemon gives me acid reflux or I would maybe put a bit of lemon in it and still count it.

SparkPeople has many articles on the benefits of WATER. We are encouraged to drink water and track it on SP.

I know that there are varying ideas on what constitutes water. Do you track ONLY plain water? Do you track other drinks as water, maybe adding lemon or a squeeze of orange in your water? Do you count iced tea that is without sugar? Tea without caffeine? Tea with Sweetener? Sugar Free powdered drinks?

Let's share with each other what YOU track as WATER.
