MELAFYAIYAI I use to be able to place my nose to the floor while doing a split and then we would stretch and touch our toes..It was part of our calistenics..I loved and did it for many years until I became phyiscally unable to even ride a bike... I believe that you can achieve this if that is a goal you truly believe in..I am rooting for you!!! emoticon

emoticon MELAFYAIYAI on putting your nose to the floor. Haven't tried anything like that in a long time, but I can touch the floor while standing with my legs straight. No matter how much weight I gain, I have always been able to do that.

I've kept up with all my exercise. 50 minutes a day on the exercise bike.

Haven't gone over my calories.

Trying very hard to get 8 hours of sleep every night, but still miss on some nights.

Lost 11 lbs since I started SP on 11/14/12, so I lost at least my 1 pound a week.

All in all, it's been a very good month and a half for me. Looking forward to 2013! emoticon

I came very close - even if I didn't quite reach all of the goals:

1. Exercise 5 days a week minimum - 40 minutes each time minimum I EXERCISED 20 TIMES THIS MONTH, BUT THAT WAS WITH ONE WEEK HAVING ONLY 4 TIMES - NOT BAD, THOUGH!
2. No more than 400 calories eaten at any one sitting for the rest of the month (beginning on the 22nd) - ONLY ONE EXCEPTION TO THAT! YEAH!
3. Eat some type of berry every day - DONE
4. Jog 1/2 mile without stopping by end of month - NEED TO GET TO THE TRACK, BUT I'M PRETTY SURE I CAN DO THAT. WON'T HAVE A CHANCE UNTIL AT LEAST TOMORROW
5. Be able to sit on the floor with my legs apart, knees straight, lean forward, and put my nose on the floor! DONE!

Oh yes and they are fun...they have a couple of videos with coach Nicole and they are a couple of links that were provided by Team ~INDIYGIRL on YOUTUBE ....I believe so on the aerobics I know there is a core one that really gets me going and tire me out, I repeat it some days and usually when I go potty I try to do things like clean in between and after doing the peeing thing. I'll close the lid sit down and work the legs a little bit more, just to get in a couple of more minutes in the day..Lol Check out Beth on team ~IndyGirl she is really an Inspiration to people, she was disabled and she has come so far in her weight loss story. You may even seen it on spark people .com I hope I have been usefull Love your sister in Christ Jill

Chair exercises? I assume that would be for people who have a difficult time with standing - at least exercising that way?

I have days when my hips bother me a LOT, and was wondering if these might include aerobics as well?

I'm doing pretty well, too. Enjoyed myself at 2 small gatherings yesterday, relaxed in the evening, and still ate well within reason. I didn't track it, as a gift to myself (I hate record keeping! lol), but put about half of what I normally would have on my plate, avoided almost all wheat (causes me pain), and told myself I could always go back for more if I wanted it. Never did! The only "junk" I had was a small piece of pie with my daughter (her gift from a grandmother). Never felt deprived, and never felt overfull.
Reward? The scale is down a little again this morning!!!! Yeah!!!

I'm doing good. Have increased my exercise to 50 minutes on the recumbent bike. (I was doing 30 min. and walking 10)

Haven't gone over on my calories, in fact, since I increased my exercise and am using more each day, SP has increased my calories, so I have to eat more.

Still losing each week. It's been exactly 1 pound a week for 2 weeks.

Merry Christmas to all. emoticon

You can do it! Sometimes starting with a small amount can get us going in the right direction. Try adding in 5 - 10 minutes of exercise for the second session. Once that becomes something you are expecting to do it will be easier to gradually increase it to whatever length is right for you. For me, the biggest hurdle has been getting started. Once I realized that it was the habit of exercising AT ALL, rather than the length or intensity that was my hangup, I focused on simply developing the habit, and the length and intensity came quite naturally.

YOU CAN DO IT! emoticon

So how's everyone doing toward reaching their goals?

I went over on one meal today, but overall am doing fine for calorie intake.
Found out tonight that if I really push it, I can already put my nose on the floor! Wouldn't want to keep it there for more than a second, though! lol

I did not give into that apple pie for which I am very proud of myself....But while I was on FB checking on my friend Dorothy and her daughter + momma Cynthia...I found out momma is going down really fast....earlier in November we found out that momma has stage 4 cancer. We all were in the women's church group together...we are sister's in Christ... We call Dorothy, DeeDee and DeeDee finally started breaking. I think the reality of what is happening has finally started sinking in..When we got done, I found myself just mindless eating a poptart and a glass of soy milk... I have to be honest with myself and identify it for what it is, emotional eating.....and you know what I did then..I gave myself permission to eat another poptart...You see Momma is morbidly obese and right now with the meds all of the previous chemo she hasn't been eating. And thinking of seeng her in this shape, I had to eat one in momma's honor because she'll never be able to have the chance to eat one again or have the chance like us to get healthy....So here's to Momma, one day at a time I pledge to get healthy, to eat right and every now and then to have a poptart for her and to Thank God for giving me the chance to get Healthy.............

To get back on track. It is 6 months since I have sparked and things went downhill from then on. July I was inundated with work, but no excuse for not getting back on track in August. As a result I have piled back everything I lost plus some. I kept putting off returning until I had lost it again, but that isn't happening fast, so I need to start tracking again. emoticon

My goal for December is to not gain, just maintain. I have some doctor appointments this week and later this month. I am going to start seeing specialist to help me get my health issues under control (that's my other goal)

I hope to continue my schedule and lose 1 to 2 pounds a week.

Only have one party to go to, and nobody pays attention to what you are eating, cause they are all eating. It's a mingle of our Monday night Bible Study group (there are 23 of us), but other people are usually invited (kids and grandkids), so there's too much going on for anyone to notice anything. I can stand around all night and not eat anything and no one would know. I'll try to pick out one or two things that wont use all my calories for the day, and have a small dessert.

The same goes for the fellowship before the Christmas Candlelight service. No one will notice if I am eating.

Notice I said 'hope'...I'll be doing a lot of praying, too. I've got to get this weight off for my health! emoticon

The best goal for me is to remain clearly focused.
December foods are triggers for weight gain. Happens every year.
I will bake cookies with a friend and I will go to the holiday parties.
I will always take healthy foods with me and enjoy them instead of the calorie laden foods.

Had an emergency two nights ago where a large chair had to be removed from our apartment and repaced with another. In order to do this we had to move bookcases and other items, too much stuff. Has set my resolve to eliminate the over clutter in our apartment.
If I have not used it in the last year......Its going by Jan 2013

My goal is to maintain my weight. I will be going on a week long cruise and I have many parties to attend. Maintaining until January will be a challenge for me. I will do this by:
1: Drinking 8 glasses of water a day
2. Weight lifting 3x a week
3. Giving up my morning high calorie beverage
4; Taking the stairs instead of the elevator on the cruise
5: Getting 10 minutes of exercise 3x a day 5x a week

I will be moving back to Africa on the 11th. My goal is to get settled in my house in Africa. That will require a lot of exercise. I did not do enough exercise in November. My goal will be to do more fitness minutes in December that I did in November.

Some of us use scales. Others keep track of inches or centimeters. Still others set goals for exercise. For this challenge you set your own goal (s) for DECEMBER and then let us know how you're doing. Check in at the end of the month or more frequently if you wish. Do not make a goal that is too BIG or FAST! Be realistic.

What are your goals for the month of DECEMBER?
