It may be a little late to make a goal for this month, but no matter. I'm training to do walk/run 5k at the beginning of August. My goal is to have the strength and stamina to finish that 5K feeling good.

I'm kind of late starting, but my biggest goal is to reach the first ten pound weight loss mark by July 18,which is just a pound away, and at least 8 total for the whole month.

My goal is to have a lot of fun out of doors, hiking, swimming in the lake and getting this blankety blank yard cleaned up. The lawn mower bit the dust so I am cutting the grass with the weed wacker. The yard is 1/4 acre of grass. But it is getting done. No TV so we watch Netflix in the evening on the hubby's computer. We do save some good healthy snacks for that time. Life is GOOD!!

I want to continue running three times a week and do weight bearing exercises at home on the other days. Stick to my calorie range six days a week. Make good decisions, one day at a time !

My scale is obviously defective. It shows that I have only lost 4 pounds in 9 weeks. So my goal this month is to sulk!
I shall do that by losing half an inch overall with my current exercise program, instead of losing weight.
Take THAT scale!

I've gotta get back on track. I've been slacking off on exercise and diet and my weight has been piling back on. My goal is to lose 10 lbs and start exercising 30 min a day or more and eating less than 1800 calories a day... EVERYDAY!

My goals for this month is to do the same as I am doing that is eating well and getting lots of exercise but to cut back a bit on the calories so as to lose a little weight. Nothing drastic as I am doing well and enjoying the life I live.

To incorporate more fiber in my menu. The tracker usually shows that nutrient as lower than recommended. Otherwise, I am going to do what I have been doing...I feel wonderful!

Continue to work on getting grains, dairy and protein into my diet. Continue with my volunteer work. Get to the clubhouse and get on the reliptical machine and change up my strength training routines.

I guess my biggest goal is to start over. I need to increase my fruits & veggie intake, take a little more time off with my muscle pain and begin a gentle walking program. Lofty goals but I think doable as there is a lot of fresh foods out there!!

Am spending the next 2 weeks babysitting my dear granddaughter so my goal is to stay the same and not gain. My daughter eats very healthy and (weather permitting) we will get some hiking in. I would love to lose but don't want to set myself up for failure. Know that staying with my granddaughter will limit my activity so if I maintain I'm fine with that.

I agree about the physical therapist I went to a couple that I did not see any improvement last time I went I saw improvement and they sent me home with goals I could work on . It is not maintenance so you have to have a period in between when you go .

I can really relate with you, Marsha. I was stuck at 160 for 4 months and actually got down to 152 as of last week. And at 58 I would like to tone my upper arms and tummy. Scars from abdominal surgeries, a t-intersection from my bellybutton to my pelvic bone doesn't help either.

I would like to get down to 149 (I've been in the 150's FOREVER!!!) Also I know at age 61, I'm not ever going to be firm, but I would like to be able to tone up some of the skin on my upper arms and tummy.
Also, Carolyn and Kerry, good luck with the physical therapy! I never used to believe in it too much, but I am a big believer after it really saved me from having to have a second spine surgery two years ago!!
Hugs, Marsha

Carolyn starting physical therapy will be good for your body. I am sure they will suggest additional things to do at home to supplement your sessions. Which reminds me that I went to the assistant yesterday and forgot to tell her that I wanted a work order for physical therapy I think maybe in my case they want to wait until after I get the cortisone shot in my neck. My challenge goals for July walk 10 minutes two days a week , physical therapy exercises 3 days a week and one day with sit and be fit.

My goal for JULY is to be able to walk "smoothly" with my walker or a cane before the end of July. I would also like to be off of my pain pills. I tried to use my pedometer in June but it did not work really well while walking with my walker. I would like to get it to working again. Perhaps I need to change the batteries. Another goal for me is to bend my knee more. I can only bend it 60-65 degrees now (after my knee surgery) but I would like to bend i 90 degrees by the end of July. The Dr. said I may not be able to bend it that month by my July 30th office visit but I would sure like to try to do so. It takes a lot of exercise....and I'll be in Physical Therapy sessions at the hospital starting on Friday.

Some of us use scales. Others keep track of inches or centimeters. Still others set goals for exercise. For this challenge you set your own goal (s) for JULY and then let us know how you're doing. Check in at the end of the month or more frequently if you wish. Do not make a goal that is too BIG or FAST! Be realistic.
