Hmm, I fell of the wagon for a while, but back on track. Started the training program over yesterday and was already in the gym first thing this morning.
CHIBIKARATE, how are you doing eith the running?
i am in with you
i also love einsteen and the way he got his ideas I love to travel on the spur of the moment and i love portland oregon, hawaii. I enjoy all forms of art and the galleries
Thanks for your encouragement!
I do have to buy new shoes now. My foot hurt after the first time, so i waited until today. I am just about to go buy some shoes and hit the gym again. I know you have to be carefull with new shoes, but i'm only on 5x 1 minute so that should be fine :)
Have a good day!
I think 5k sneaks up on you. I took the dog for a hike yesterday, meant to take one trail, took another one, and when I got home discovered that the "accidental" trail was 3.25mi. I was a bit achey by the time I got home, but it was a good, amazing ache.
Good for you. I was also in your shoes last year and surprised myself by doing a few 5ks last year. I had always seen myself as a couch potato. It's great that you are doing things you never imagined. I signed up for a 10k this year and I am a bit freaked out, so I think that I better start training for that one of these days. Best of luck to you.

I did the Sparkpeople virtual trick or treat 5K last October. I ended up walking about 1/3 of it, but I was very proud of myself because that is just not something I ever would have done before now.
My BFF signed up for a 5K run at the end of April and has asked me to join her. I might do it.
START: 222.4 1/1/11
Goal: 148 - (goal: 12/31/12)
on starting your 5K training.
Last summer I did a 5K WALK for the first time at the end of June then one week later I did another 5K walk. I had done the 5 week "5K Your Way Walking Plan".
Here is a link to the various 5K Walking or Running training plans that SparkPeople has on the website.

If anyone would have told me before I would be starting a trainingprogram to learn to run 5k, I would have had a good laugh
But I am. I found a programm that takes 12 weeks to get there and I started today.
Actualy a little surprised that I managed to do this 5 times 1 minute running!
Anybody like to join me in trying to get to this new goal?
