First, I would like to congratulate all the team members that lost inches and/or pounds or maintained for the month of August. emoticon to all of you!

As for me, I set a goal of 2.5 lbs in August but got turned around and have been moving in the opposite direction. emoticon I know goals are important and these challenges are really great but for the coming month, I am just going to try to take some action without any inches or pounds attached to it. Maybe this will work for me this time around.

I was shooting for 4 pounds this month, but only lost about 2. All of that was in the second half of the month when I started taking the dog for long walks to make up for the intense cardio I wasn't doing due to the heat. Hopefully I can kick it back up and lose 5 in September!

Not officially September yet, but it's the last Monday in August, my hope for downward results happened. I lost 1.2 pounds, not a lot, but according to my calculator, .8 of that was lean muscle gained, and 2 pounds of fat lost. I also lost half an inch in my hips and half an inch in my bust. The big August ending win for me however, was running 10 miles on Friday.

Didn't lose the body fat % I wanted to but I did lose a half inch on bust, waist, hips, abs, and calves 2.5 inches gone that's a good thing I'll take it emoticon though my weight was up a little

I reached my goal of losing five pounds this month. Actually, I lost 5.5! Yay! I am 194.5. My original goal was to be 190 by the end of September, but if I lose a pound or two this week, I'll change that up a bit.

I am finally down 2 pounds for the month. August has been HARD, but I finally got ticked off by my almost non-existent weight loss for the month and started adding extra workouts. I suppose it's possible that I'll hit my 4 pound goal by the end of the month, but I'll be happy if I can hit 3, as hard as I'm working for each pound the last few weeks.

I know I'm coming in a little late to this challenge, but the month isn't over yet! My goal for the last two weeks of this month is to lose two pounds, putting me at 161. Part of me wants to say, "Oh, I want to reach the 150s," but I know that isn't realistic, and this IS the Slowest Loser, after all. So, two pounds. I can do that!

My August goal is to fit comfortably by Sep 1 the size 14 jeans I bought a couple weeks ago. I can get them on and zip them and button them but they are still a tad too tight for my taste. Once they fit it will be on to size 12!!! Maybe by Dec 1. Oops I'm getting ahead of myself. Sorry!!!

I'm aiming for one inch of loss total.

I'm hoping to get to 119.5. Also, for some reason (not because of exercise/diet inconsistency) my weight is up to 122 even though at the start of the month it was 120. Go figure. I'd be happy to at least see the same old 120 back on the scale by the end of August, to be honest!

Christa90 ~ I like to make my own trail mix with a couple of different nuts, dried fruit like crasins and more. And just a few chocolate chips. Very satisfying. Don't forget all the walking you will or can do while camping.

I have not been on spark in a long time so for my August goal I really want my inches to go down. I am sure some pounds will go with that. I really like Danspphi's idea I want to be lower & down in inches on sept 1st then I was on Aug 1st. I will take anything.

Mini goal time coming up at the end of this month. Have 2 more lbs. to go. Even at my unenviable speed it should be doable. My only concern is our camping trip for the last 2 weeks of August. Am planning meals already. Won't have to worry about too many restaurants out in the widerness LOL! However, we are in the habit of eating a lot of junk snackies on the long drives. Any ideas for non-perishable snackies that are carb and calorie friendly would be greatly appreciated. Thanks so much.

I know the challenge is for pounds or inches but my major goal right now is to reduce the body % on my so I am going to work on lower body fat % by 2% I hope but I will take any loss and be happy. I upped my strength training with new weight lifting routine for August

The pounds are not dropping, but the inches are. Since I lost 1/2 inch on my waist in July, I will try for 1 inch in August.

I'm with the majority here...1 pound a week is a great turtle speed, so I'm aiming for 4 pounds in the month, as well! I need to think of a reward. I don't do that well. I will get a new shirt/blouse.

My original goal this year was to loose 50 lbs by my birthday when I turn 55 in November. I know that was unrealistic in the beginning. But I just wanted to try. So my goal for August is 4 lbs. Thanks for the challenge.

My goal is to lose 2.5 pounds. My weight is coming off in ounces so 2.5lb goal is ambitious. My exercise goal is to do 120 min daily. I'm signed up for water aerobics am or pm same for zumba am or pm from Monday to Friday and taking weekends off to rest.

I am going to set my goal for a 2.5 lb. loss in August. I will weigh in on 7/31 to see my results for July. It's been a difficult month but halfway through I was able to get ahold of myself and I think it is working.

I was 250 pounds before I started traveling Monday July 25th. I do not return home til August 31st at which time I would like to be the same weight or less (doubtful). Tomorrow night I head from Africa to the the States for a four week vacation. :-)

For this AUGUST challenge we each set our own goal. Some of us use scales. Others keep track of inches or centimeters. For this challenge you set your own goal for AUGUST and then let us know how you're doing. Check in at the end of the month or more frequently if you wish. Remember that we're the SLOWest Loser team so do not make a goal that is too BIG or FAST! Be realistic.
