I also dropped dinner plates in favor of snack size, & I fill our plates 1ce only - you can refuse something but no substitutes and no seconds. I use 1 cup or1/2 cup size bowls to serve heftier foods such as refried beans, fruit, cottage cheese so portions remain in proper scale.
