I also dropped dinner plates in favor of snack size, & I fill our plates 1ce only - you can refuse something but no substitutes and no seconds. I use 1 cup or1/2 cup size bowls to serve heftier foods such as refried beans, fruit, cottage cheese so portions remain in proper scale.

For about 2 years now I have only used a small salad plate for all my meals instead of the big dinner plate. Measured foods look like i have too much food this way and I don't feel deprived emoticon

No problem. That is what I do every day. Occasionally I will have seconfs if it is mostly vegetables.

That's what I always do! Several months ago, after my husband passed away, I started looking at flea markets and Goodwill and bought several 9" plates -- china, ironstone, no paper or plastic! I bought several smaller bowls too for chili and stew. I packed all the matching dishes up and now dinner is fun! AND I don't eat as much! emoticon

ODC= One Day Challenge!

Either Tuesday or Wednesday use only small plates for your meals. Rather than fill up a dinner plate, use a smaller one and limit your meal to just one plateful.

I'll do that on Tuesday. Is there anyone who will join me on this one day challenge?
