Did pretty good. Ate more soup so was able to get some color in. Also increased my exercise by making myself walk the 3 blocks to my son's bus stop.

Well, I didn't increase my fruits and veggies, but stayed consistent with them. I did increase my exercise the last part of the week. Yay!

Yesterday was NOT good! I went on some kind of eating frenzy and couldn't stop...actually I didn't even try to stop! But I am back at it today...I am going to get right back into it!! I am going to the store, I want to get some better foods to keep in the house...I am going to exercise today...my MP3 broke so I need to get another one before I can go to the gym...sounds dumb but I can't motivate myself without music....

I am going to do #3 and #4. I plan on adding an extra mile a day to my walking or cycling and a few extra reps in my strength training!! :) Yay September!

I am going to do #1 and #4. I need to improve in the fruits and veggies. I usually only eat about 3 a day, so I'm going to try to increase that. Summer is always a good time to get some really yummy fresh produce. I also need to improve again on the exercise, so I will work to increase that again this week as well.

Today I ate fruit on my cereal, and a plum with my lunch. No exercise

Ok I did well today...tracked everything I ate (I was over by a little but I marked it all!!!) And tonight I worked out my arms...I NEVER do strength training so that was really an add for me!!! WOOHOO!!!

Doing fairly well with the colors. Also went to the gym and walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes yesterday. Today I walked to take my son to and pick him up from his bus stop.

Dinner tonight was really colorful. I made a lentil and brown rice dish we enjoy. I chopped up onion, celery, red, yellow, orange bell peppers and garlic. Cooked until vegetables sweated, added 1 cup of lentils, 1 cup of brown rice, and box of chicken broth. Cooked until lentils and rice were done. It was really pretty.

I'll do #1 since I need to eat more vegetables & fruits.
And #2 I've been raising my workout time and strength training levels too.
I feel soooo much better...
I'm 67 yrs young and if you would have told me 2 1/2 months ago that I would enjoy going to exercise, I would have told you that you were crazy!!! lol

Well I'll already be adding extra exercise. I'm moving this week, and rather than paying a ton of money to rent a great big huge uhaul I plan on loading up my car a little bit each day then renting a small uhaul on the weekend to move all the furniture. I have a teeny little car (VW New Beetle) so I can't fit much in it. I figured between the packing and moving boxes around that'll add a lot of extra burnt off calories. I'll also be eating more fruit and veggies this week. I'm officially living with my boyfriend as of tonight, and he's a fruit and veggie fanatic so that should also help me eat more colourful foods!

Summer has come to an end. School has restarted! Many have more time to get back into shape now that their kids are gone part of the day. Others have less time for themselves because they teach or take classes!

The choice is up to you if you wish to join one or more of these BACK TO SCHOOL challenges:

1.Review your basic COLORS by having a Colorful Plate of food. This week try to add color to your diet by eating lots of GREENS, YELLOWS, REDS, etc. Share on this thread how you made your meals more colorful.

2. Visit the SparkPages of at least Five new members of Slowest Loser's Team and TEACH them about the team. Leave them a comment or a SparkGoodie and "show them around" the team, inviting them to join in the various threads.

3. TEST YOURSELF and your eating by tracking your food at least 5 days this week. Don't forget to run your Daily Nutrition Feedback Report to see how you're doing on your eating.

4. ADD to your WALKING or EXERCISING. Try to do additional steps or minutes of exercise this week. Let us know how you plan to increase your workouts and then at the end of the week, let us know how you did.
