I forgot to post my results for August. I was finally able to lose some weight and keep it off. I pretty quickly lost 2 pounds in the beginning of the month, and wonder of wonders, I was able to keep those 2 pounds off, the entire month! Victory for me!

Up and down month, but I made my goal, plus some. Lost 8.5 pounds and 3.5 inches (goal-4 and 2). I'm sure the only reason I made the number was the night spent in the hospital with pneumonia, which I would not recommend as a weight loss tool! Here's to a healthier September! emoticon

I wanted to lose 4 lbs for Aug and did not. But I lost 2.5lbs in a month filled with social and family events so I am pleased

I was going to use tomorrow's weight. It wont change much. Today it is 203.0.
My lowest for August was 194.4.
The first of the month I weighed 196.8.
That is a gain of 6.2 pounds. And there is no explaining it; except I had a neck strain and while recouping I went to 204.4.
If we are doing this again next month, I'm going to buy a cloth tape and do it right.

On average I was losing 3-4 lbs /mth, so I wanted to lose 5 lb this month.
And I did it... emoticon

I started out the month at 249.2 pounds. This morning I was 249.8 pounds so I'm up some. Last week I was up three pounds more than that so my weight is coming back down. I still have two days left before weigh in so perhaps I'll at least break even.

I have a challenge: lose 7 pounds in 7 days. I got up to 202.4 while my neck was sore, I pulled a muscle. I am back to pain free exercising. I didn't take my muscle relaxer yesterday and there was just a twinge of pain. Tomorrow is my weigh-in day for the week and day seven; I haven't even weighed myself for the week. I would like to finish the month with a loss.

Monday, Aug 9th, from 122.1 lbs to 119.9 lbs = lose 2.2 lbs (1kg), hehe.

July was tough on me, gaining and losing the same four pounds, but I started August with a positive, going camping, and the activity that is involved there, and I'm down those four, plus one more.

My goal for August is to lose three pounds this month.

I AM... DOING THIS...

this is going to be a very interesting month trying to lose what we promised, BUT, it will make us very aware of everything that goes in our mouth

I have been watching sodium intake very carefully and that is hard when so many ordinary things are loaded with salt. Have been entering my foods before I eat so I can change if they contain too much salt. One thing about it, watching salt and drinking lots of fluids, I sure get exercise going to the little girls room.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart and lean not unto thy own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge Him and He shall direct thy paths. Prov. 3:5-6

I plan to lose 5 lbs this month--and I just discovered tonight that I have been way over my calories for the first 4 days of the month! ACK! I knew it, but I didn't want to know it and seeing it summarized on the calendar was a real eye-opener. I have a way to go to meet my goal, but I can do it!

My goal for August is to weigh less than 170 which is about 4.5 pounds to lose. For me, that means portion control, exercising daily, no Mocha Frappes from McDonalds, no heavy eating at night...

I was up to 203 on Monday. Very upsetting as I had gained 12 lbs in the last couple of months. Now I am on the downslide at 201 this AM. I knew some of the additional weight was water weight from our trip. I always develop edema on a long car trip.

Just curious.
BRSCLS is that overall inches. Two inches sounds like a lot if it's just the waist.
Good luck with consistency in calorie counting. I am definitely weak there.

I'm in for losing 3-5 lbs. It's going to be a crazy busy month, so I hope to keep on track with recording food/exercise at least a few times a week--probably won't be able to get to it every day. But, I'm making better choices in general with the help of Sparkpeople. Thanks everyone.

My first day on this challenge was great (I have really been slacking lately). I stayed at the low end of my calorie range and took 2 walks one 30 min and one for an hour. I'm in the mountains so it was either up or down hill. I am feeling good about this one.

I'd love to join in my first challenge on this team.

My goal is to lose 4 pounds in August. My husband and I are teachers and have been walking throughout summer vacation...if we keep it up, I can take those lbs off!

My weight is currently 181.4, so that would put me at 177.4 on the morning of Wednesday, September 1 (my normal weigh-in day). Thanks!

ok, just weighed in this morning, was 220, 1/2 lb up from last Wed's weigh in but I know that I usually fluctuate over the weekend so not worried tooo much. But since today is the official start of August, I will go with this morning's weigh in and that means I am shooting for 216 by the end of this month.

Count me in for August! I lost 3 pounds and 5 inches in July, which was the most I've ever lost in a month. So I'm going to shoot for losing 4 pounds and 4 inches in August. That will put me in the 130s for the first time since my teens! Go team!!!

In order to reach my goal of 20 pounds by September 30th, I have set my August goal for 8 pounds. Pretty lofty for me--and not necessarily in line with the slowest loser mentality! But after messing around most of the year, my son's wedding is just around the corner in October. So wish me success!
