Unfortunately, I did great my first week of the challenge, but not so good my last week. So, I broke even. I won't be on for the next week. Wishing you all a wonderful beginning of August and I'll be back to being slow with you all then!!!

I wanted to lose 5 pounds this month. Won't make it. I've lost two, and my goal for the rest of this month--all 3 days of it--is to keep those 2 pounds off.

In July I wanted to lose 1lb or 1 inch. I'm not sure on the inch. I'm going to measure on the first, however, I did lose my pound. And I'm happy with that. I hope it doesn't take me a month to lose all my pounds because I'll be around a VERY VERY long time. However, it's all a learning experience. :)

My results:

When I started trying to lose weight (May 2010): 156
When I joined SparkPeople (June 2010): 150
Beginning of July 2010: 148
As of this morning (29 July 2010): 143.4!!!

So I know I was only trying to lose 2 lbs this month, but I'm kind of excited that without really trying any harder I was able to lose almost 5 lbs in 4 weeks!!!!!!!!

My JULY results:

Highest in SP: 260
Start of 2010: 255
Start of July: 247.4
Today, July 29 247.8
Gained in July: 0.4 pound
Lost in the past three months: 1.6 pounds
Lost in 2010: 7.2 pounds.

Now you know why I am the Co-Leader of the Slowest Losers Team! At least I'm losing weight overall, even if I did not lose in July!

CHLOIANNA, I have been where you are more times than I like to admit. Times when I have disappointed myself by behavior that led to unwanted consequences (like wt gain) and times when I experienced those unwanted consequences even though I had done everything right. Progress can be a difficult path. Treat yourself kindly and treat yourself well, which will include making better choices.

CHLOIANNA, you are NOT a failure. You are trying, and you are a member of SP and this team. That makes you a success. Maybe the weight isn't coming off like it should, but that doesn't mean you've failed.

I've only lost 2 of the 5 I wanted to lose this month, and the other 3 aren't coming off this week. I'll take those 2, though, and try again next month.

I have had a couple of days where I did not intentionally make good choices. My wt is 225.5, still a net loss for July but does not put me at the desired wt of 224. Perhaps I can still reach it. Main thing is to start being intentional again!

Congratulations on your loss carolyn ! That's wonderful !

I started this challenge at 292 lbs so I'm hoping by July 31st when I wi for the last time, for this challenge, that I'm 288 or less ! That would mean I managed to drop 5 lbs for the month and made my goal for this challenge. We shall see ! lol

I've been doing pretty good this month and I believe it's been because of this challenge it's kept me on my toes and kept it on my mind as something to look forward to.

If you look at the bottom of my post it states that my goal is to lose 1 lb a month because that is what my doctor wants to see, but my ticker is set for losing .5 lbs a week which equates to 2 lbs a month. With that said if I can lose between 1 - 2 lbs for July I will be happy.

So far so good. I'm down from 292 to 289 which means I've had a 3 lb loss since the first of July, not bad. I have two more pounds to go before I meet my goal. Hoping to do that by July 31st !

I actually am doing both, but since I started closer to the middle of the month, I'm going to track my weight for July. Let's see ... I'd like to lose about a half a pound a week, so I'm going to set me goal for a total of 2 pounds for the month of July. My weigh-in day is Wednesdays.

July 1, and 8th I gained
July 15th I lost 6.2 lbs

so my goal for the rest of July is to stay the same or lose 1 pound total for the 2 remaining weigh in days.

Joining late, but my July goals was to lose at least 5.5 lbs in July to get into next decade. Went away first week in July, need I say more? Anyhow need about 4 lbs before 7/31 to make the goal.

I am really trying....I typically weigh in weekly on Tuesdays.

Progress report on goal to lose 2.5lbs from starting wt of 226.5 on July 3rd.

Saw MD today b/c I have not recovered from sinusitis and bronchitis. On 4 meds to fight infec and treat symptoms. Anyway, i have not been tracking food or even making best choices ....just not hungry, at least not for my usual good choices.

At MD office 7/16 my wt was 224.6 showing a total loss of 24lbs this yr (since last fall.) So I am plzed with my progress,,,Slow and Steady

Since this month is almost over and I just joined and I don't work out too much these days (meaning Ill start off slow), Ill say that by July 31st I'd like to lose 5lbs. I havent measured myself so Ill have to do this to figure out how many inches I'd like to lose.

I haven't measured or weighed yet but today I did have to tightenup on waistband of fanny pack it was hanging way to loose somaybe I'm losing inches

My goal was 2 pounds a week... I've lost 3 in the first two weeks of July and pleased as punchemoticonCheers

My wt this am (actually yesterday am) was 225, a decrease from July 8th when I determined to lose 2.5 lbs during the month. I was sick for 8 days w/ sinusitis and a couple other "itis" that basically meant that I felt crummy and coughed a lot. I am back on program now.

How's everyone doing on this JULY challenge. The month is about half over. My it's going by rapidly. My weight is coming off, slowly.... but at least I'm losing.

I am joining in at this late stage in the game too. haha I would like to lose 2 lbs by the end of July. The way I go up and down, you never know....but I believe I can do 2 lbs.

Not sure it is appropriet for me to be joining at this late stage....and given the fact that I will be away in Aussie for the last week of July and the first week in August....amybe I could set my goal and weigh in before I go on July 25th????
If all that is acceptable.....I would like to be under 61K by the 25th July and loose 2 ins.....

2.1 lbs lost! 2.5lbs was is my goal! Hmmm..., there is something about tracking your food (which I haven't done in forever), and watching my portions, that really make this work! Add exercise to the mix, and voila', you have weight loss! Took me some time to figure that out! .4lbs to go! emoticon Let's go team!! We can do it!!! emoticon

In the past week I've only managed to keep off the .4 I lost on the 1st. Tomorrow is another day.

Since I joined the team late, I'm going to just have a challenge for the last three weeks in July. My goal is to lose 2 pounds by August 1.

I would like to be 159 by August. Of course I should say that I have gone up since the beginning of August but I am determined to get back on track. The advice of everyone has been really helpful as I was doing it all wrong.
