Thanks Alysia, I'm doing my first 5K dog walk (Tail Waggin 5K).

If you would of told me I'd be doing this a year ago, I would have told you, "you are crazy".

Sometimes, my legs just feel as old as the moon; so, I walk, instead of run. My daughter complains that I still walk pretty darned fast, though, lol!

A couple of Saturdays ago, I was sticking with the slowest person on our training team, while our coach made sure the others kept to their intervals (why does no one wear a watch, lol!). Her shuffle is my walk pace, which was fine with me because I felt like walking. We were laughing about it, although she felt a little frustrated that she was working so hard while I seemed so relaxed.

Well, guess what - it takes time to get to that point. Just keep working at it. One of my running buddies walked our marathon in Feb. because he was recovering from an IT Band injury. ChiWalking/Running helped him turn in a really impressive finish time!

Bottom line: walking is a good thing!
