1. I will meditate for 15 minutes at least once a day,*every morning if not more*

2. I will write in my journal at least 3 times a week, more if I am really stressed

3. I will get in at least 10 minutes of cardio at least 3x a weeks, increasing my time as I get better

4. I will get in 15 minutes a day strength training alternating upper, lower and core

5. I will avoid the news and gossip which encourages negativity

I don't read for reflection as much as I once did. I will read for twenty minutes three times a week. DW fractured her pelvic in two places at the end of October so I've not been walking the dog (his and my step counts are way down) while I help her before I go on the eve watch. I will walk the dog twice this week while DW is set up comfortably and work on increasing that as her abilities improve. I will put these on my goal board. Otherwise I really don't have any stressors. Cheers!

I plan to:
1) walk at least 10 minutes every day
2) use my massage machine 10 minutes a day
3) take time for meditation and journaling daily

1. Progressive Relaxation~ I have a dvd that has this at the end of the workout

2. Meditation~ I have dvds with different meditations

3. Aromatherapy~ I love wax melts and have a few wax warmers (with lighthouses on them of course)

4. Listening To Music~ I listened to music every day with my husband before he passed but havent since, so I need to start again

5. Laughing ~ I watch comedy shows for this, and read FB :)

6. Visualization~ When I cant go to the beach I picture it in my mind or look at one of the beach pictures hanging on the walls

7. Hanging With Your Pet~ Im always cuddling with my baby dog, shes constantly by my side

8. Being Artistic~ Ive never been artistic or crafty, but my duaghter and I are going to start getting together once a week to do something crafty

My husband passed away 7 1/2 months ago so I know how you feel. It's hard to let go and seeing a future without him is even harder. I pray you find peace in your heart and mind. This is one of the stresses I need to work on too.

If music is a passion of yours, I 100% agree that you should not listen to negative thoughts from others. If it comes from your heart, it is beautiful.

Hello everyone!
My challenge is not over eating sweets when I get stressed. I love sugar!

1) I'm limiting my purchases to only single-serving sizes (to keep it out of the house)
2) Upping my protein intake
3) Trying to be more mindful when the stress monster surfaces

My goals for this first week is to acknowledge my stress, whenever it happens, and ask myself, "Can I do anything to change this situation?" If the answer is yes, then I do something to change it and relieve my stress. If the answer is no then I practice deep breathing and let my stress go. My biggest issue with dealing with stress is I get worked up and often times it's something that is beyond my control.
I will also commit to write in a stress journal every day!

1.) Stick to my 10K training plan
2.) Do enough freelancing to get 1K in the bank for emergencies
3.) Log into Spark on a regular basis.

(All three -in theory - are very achievable goals for me. However, I rarely finish my goals - always tend to fall off the wagon about 1/2 way there. So my overarching goal is simply to stick to the plan.)

Well, this is much needed!! I never really thought about how to reduce my stress, just thought being a mother of 3 and a wife and a nursing student meant that I HAD to be stressed out 24/7. I feel a bit better knowing that's not true. So my goals:

Delegate some housework to the other 4 people in my household

Take some time to myself to do something OTHER than study

Do more fun things with my family.

I haven't really thought about it too much until tonight; but, here is a start.

My husband passed away almost 4 years ago. One of my goals (I have started doing this) is to let go and face the future with courage.

Don't react to people who say hurtful things about my music; continue playing the best I can and don't let words hurt me.

Stop listening to negative remarks.

One of the things I'm stressing about is that my son and I plan on moving to a smaller house. I have a lot of things to go through and have to decide what to keep or not. I'm really dreading going through my husband Henry's things (he passed away January 22) which will be very emotional and stressful for me. I know I'll want to keep all of his stuff because it belonged to him.

My goals for this are:
Go through one room/closet a day
Get rid of everything I don't absolutely have to keep
Give to family anything they want of Henry's
Keep only one or two boxes of the things that belonged to him

Other goals:
Drink 80 oz. water a day
Try to sleep at least 7 hours
Walk or bike every day
Strength train, stretch, Chi Gong, deep breathing, and meditate at least 3x's a week

I am struggling with eating and stress and am an emotional eater. I have a mom with dementia, a highly stressfilled job, 3 serious chronic health conditions, a husband whose company is closing and a daughter who is in a high risk pregnancy. I do belong to a gym but haven't darkened the door since I've been ill. After taking the 'Stress Test' I saw where I am not doing so well. Here are my goals:
1. Get back into the habit of going to the gym 5 times a week for 15 minutes.
2. Make my lunch for work.
3. Do not go to the gift shop (cannot resist the candy)
4. Disconnect from family for 1 hour a day
5. Organize weaving studio so I can get back to weaving
6. Eat at a table.
7. Take meds, test blood sugars, on a regular basis.
8. Close the kitchen after 7:30 p.m.

My goal is to find better ways to help me deal with stress. I've always been an emotional eater and I have been overwhelmed with stress this year (first time back to work in 13 years, first year teaching, hired a weed before school started so already months behind, and oh yeah...divorce). I need, and more importantly want to find a better way to deal so I don't gain even more weight or lose my mind. I never want to fall into the rabbit hole of depression ever again!

My goal for the challenge is to keep a healthy work/personal life balance. I won't take overtime at work unless I feel well-rested and not because I feel pressured to go in. If I'm feeling burnt out, I'll take a step back and make sure I'm making healthy choices such as food, sleep quality, alone time, etc.

This week I will walk a few more steps each day. I just got my new SparkActivity tracker. I will stay on my food program and focus on the anti-inflammatory diet. I will drink at LEAST 4 glasses of water a day. I will journal at least 4 times a week about negative self talk and stress and blog about my journey.

My life is so full of "stuff" that it is overwhelming so my big challenge is to get rid of lots of stuff this year, starting with books and clothes, two of my worst weaknesses. Today I managed to snag 10 bulky items of nice winter clothing to go to the crisis center rummage sale collection point. Yay me! Less clutter, less stress, more control over stress-eating.

My goal is to let go of the stressors that I can't control. I need to let go of my need to put the weight of the world's stuggles on my shoulders.
My goal is to put down the food that comfort me and get on my running shoes and get out and run it all off. Running clears my head and I need to rely on that vs cookies and chips.
My goal is to get at least 7 hours of sleep each night despite the challenges going on in my life. I know I can't be productive and fight if I am run down and out of shape body and mind.
My goal is to not eat out, but find healthy options for my comfort foods.
My long term goal is to finish a Marathon!

Just read the article on the high-stress personality traits. I recognized 4 out of 10 in myself. As a middle school teacher, I have to plan my day carefully to cover lessons, create assessments, grade work and plan the next steps. I'm now seeing that the same process tends to spill over into the weekend. My goal is to ease up on my weekend expectations so that there's more time for creativity, spontaneity and a childlike sense of play!

My goals are to read some gentle and uplifting fiction stories before bed instead of checking emails or self improvement goals which get me wound up.

I will spend more time on the things that Don't stress me like my homemaking, cooking and knitting, and less time on the things I have identified as stressors such as Facebook or being too self orientated.

If I find myself becoming stressed, I will do some exercise like 50 jumping Jack's, get outside or do something kind for my husband or a neighbour as these seem to help me feel happier and calmer

I joined this challenge because I was feeling anxious, overwhelmed, exhausted and was chasing my own tail trying to keep up - and feeling pretty miserable.

I've blogged every day this week - and discovered that I feel very tired - so sleep is being given more of a priority now.

After doing the stress test, I have taken the action to plan something fun into my week. This is something I want to keep on my agenda! As I complete one fun thing, I will diary in the next thing - aiming for once a week.

I also picked up the phone this week and actually spoke to my son. I'm not a very comfortable phone-user, but I am keen to keep this connection with him going. I am also considering extending this to phoning my brother and sister regularly - but I'll have to work up to this.

I'm wanting to SLOW down, appreciate the small things in life, and feel more relaxed and happy.

Bloating can occur in women, any time during their cycle, try to avoid salt and salty foods, drink plenty of water and take some fiber like psyllium husk, benefibre, metamucil etc

Thank-you! I started probiotics from GMC. They work awesome. I don't need to use the bathroom after a meal unless I forget to take them. However, they have not helped my bloating. Any ideas for that?
