Here are our Week 4 Goals:

1) We already eat as a family a minimum of 6 nights per week. That 7th night is when I'm at school BUT the rest of the family sits down together. We have a no phone, no tv rule during dinner. It's a true family affair as everyone takes part in getting dinner ready, set the table, or clean off the table, doing the dishes, and sweeping the floor. We take turns praying each night. During dinner, not only do we work on manners, but we ask about the best and worst part of each person's day which of course leads into a lot of different conversations. Our youngest son has taken to making up jokes and tells one or three each night as well!

2) Everyone has a night in which they help make dinner with me! It's good one on one time to have with each child while they simultaneously learn to cook and get to talk one on one.

3) Long term goals - well ultimately it is to have fit and healthy children that grow into fit and healthy adults. The main things we need to work on is healthy sleep habits and keeping with healthy eating habits... as well as keeping up with the reduced screen time. We didn't have a TV for years, so screen time was easy back then ... scheduled time on the computer and hand held video games were exclusively for the car! Now ... well, it's morphed into something else completely that I need to get a handle on and it seems we're well on our way to getting there! But I know there's more to do and I just need to sit down and figure it out in order to make it work. I'm also having to work around a DH that doesn't quite think like me (which ultimately he keeps me from going overboard, running out of steam, and eventually burning out and giving up). So this is a challenge in and of itself! As I think of things I'll post :-)

I really would like to see a continuation of this challenge with more things to do as a family such as working on sleep habits and stress reduction, etc. (which happen to be things we are working!).
