It took me three weeks but we finally had a family meeting. It was priceless, the princess sat and twittered through the whole thing, and then said "wait, what did you say?"... I talked about the challenge, and that it was a spark thing. I explained that we all needed to be healthier, and that the challenge was about finding ways to make healthy fun and family oriented. They were all told that the first Monday that is a full week of school, we are all going to go get a fasting comprehensive blood work done. I want to see everyone cholesterol, triglycerides and glucose level. then we agreed to continue making healthy food swaps. My husband pointed out that I was giving them a double message by saying eat healthier and making BBQ ribs for dinner. but I responded that I love to make them food that they enjoy, and ribs every once in a while are ok.. except I ate a chicken breast and the princess went to a pizza party at church. I then talked about reducing screen time.. We agreed that we could go on an after dinner before bed walk, but no one is really into giving up the computer or TV in the evening after chores and home work is done. So I checked off the actions for week one.. Maybe I'll get week two done in two weeks, since it took me three weeks to get week one done. Our live is about to get really routine oriented and busy with school, fall sports, religious education and work changes.

I got to look at my diet and
figure how much each thing is.
I find counting calories hard. Ok
I am working on it.

2/3 of my family are off on a 180 mile bike ride, so I think we will start the healthy family challenge when they get back, next week. The biggest challenge will be less screen time. We are pretty active, but tend to decompress from stressfull days in front of the computer. The family meeting will be easy, we do those each week. Meal planning will be hard, they are very resistant to changing habits and traditions.
