We've been at it for a couple of days and what a difference! I feel so much better as a mom, knowing that I've made these changes for my kids. They're all very simple changes--playing ball when they ask me to, taking them along when I walk, going to the Y together. We are so much more cheerful with each other because we feel better physically and we're spending so much quality time together. All the guilt I had about not taking proper care of them (letting them watch too much TV, not cooking healthy meals) has disappeared!

Well, this morning I made yogurt and granola for breakfast in place of cocoa puffs. Natalie (4) took a few bites, and left the rest. I ate healthy and at least I am putting good options on the table. This may take a few mornings for her to realize I didn't get more sugar cereal and yogurt will be the new norm. On daddy's mornings she will probably get his cereal, but if she wakes up after he's gone to work she's fair game :). And I'm very happy to report that hubby said he will eat what ever I prepare for dinner YAY!!! That's a huge one for me mentally, I was expecting some kind of resistance. Instead hubby realizes change is good and he's ready for some new options! Hooray. TV time is minimal, summer is here so we will be doing some more swimming. Plateau at 10 lbs lost, but feeling confident that long term I'm on the right path even if the scale doesnt like me right now.
