I didn't realise how much we have the TV on until I turned it off! Its constantly on just for back ground noise. Have turned it off and me and my son have gone outside to play in the garden. More active and hopefully save on the energy Bill too!
I am very proud of my kids. Up until last night they had not watched hardly any TV at all since last Friday. However we went to friends house and the boys where playing video games. So I let it slide last night, since he really had not watched in 4 days. Tonight I am going to have to come up with something imaginative because we are not having play dates or going anywhere we are just going to be home without the tv on. Maybe I will let them do some watergun fights in the back yard after dinner. That is always fun and active for all of us and the dogs. ha ha

So I started today and it will not be hard to stay away from the TV as we will be so busy this weekend we will not have time to think about it. It is the after work while I cook dinner that I will have to come up with an alternative to watching so much. Maybe I will have them work on some summer homework as they have not touched much since school got out.

I cleaned out the junk in our house and bought lots of fresh fruits and veggis. Also, we have been exercising as a family every day. Our big challenge is turning off the TV. It seems to be background noise for our house, so we are going to try and cut it way down.
