I had gotten out of the habit of meal planning and cooking and freezing meals. This weekend I have prepared all the meals in larger qualities and have placed at least a weeks worth of meals for my little family up here into the freezer for the work week when I am away.
It is good to feel organised again. emoticon

I have always loved cooking and baking. My challenge is to learn to make smaller amounts and/or make things that freeze well so they are not there tempting me. So far so good but have to be sure to eat regulalry so I don't succumb to temptation when in irrational mode on an empty stomach

DAGAMOJU1, welcome to the club of "Former Cooking Haters." I now enjoy cooking and look for ways to do it better and faster.

I use the tracking for planning the upcoming weekly meals.
It's very useful to know how many calories I'm going to consume.
Also, I get in advance the menu, shopping list and the recipes that I will use. I print it.
When is time to cook, I use my shopping list to get out all the ingredients I'm going to use. This saves me time and let me organize all the items: condiments, veggies., etc. I also know, by using the shopping list, what to do with the ingredients, like chop, shred, slice, etc.

This has been a great challenge for me! I used to tell myself I did not like cooking, but by doing this challenge I found out that I really enjoy cooking! I have learned to savor the flavors, enjoy the smells as good food cooks, and celebrate that I am saving money AND eating better. this 4-week challenge is only the start.

I love this challenge most of all because I love to cook. There were a few setbacks cooking this week caused by my not tracking Wednesday and Thursday and only partially of Friday, but a 4 pound gain has motivated me to be more diligent in tracking before eating.
