Ranch Dressing has always been my favorite - but so much fat! Have been using Italian - still more fat than I need. So will try the Greek Yogurt and add spices. I do love my salad!!

I buy a container from Sams club, it's the dry mix of Hidden Valley's Ranch....I mix a small amount with Fage 0% greek yogurt...GH loves it and doesn't know it's not the bottled kind he swears by......you can make it to your taste by adding more or less, I add a bit of skim milk when using it as a dip

Ha! Finally found Bolthouse salad dressing. It took a while didn't it? It doesn't appear to be at any stores near where I live but I went for my daily walk at lunch today where I work and came across a Whole Foods that carried it. Go, figure! :) They didn't have Ranch but they had some other yummy (read - creamy) flavors that I like with yogurt base. So...here I am...a happy camper. Thanks everyone!

Thank you, 4NANAM. I'm going to give that a try. The last one had way to much mustard and didn't taste at all like Ranch to me. Have a great week!

Thanks, Arianamama! Another great suggestion. When I tried the previous suggestion I used Greek yogurt and you're right...it's thick. I didn't think about it before. I like the idea of lemon juice especially. Sometimes I just put lettuce on a plate, add some canned tuna and douse it with lemon juice. Yum!

Why not try fresh herbs? Chop up some of your favorites and mix them with low or non fat plain yogurt. I usually do flat leaf parsley, basil, thyme, rosemary, green onions, leafy celery tops, minced garlic, lemon zest, salt and pepper. It's fun to mix and match and figure out what your own favorite combo might be. When I want it thinner I add some lemon juice or vinegar, when I want it thicker I go with greek yogurt. It isn't the same as ranch but like I said I mixed and matched until I got the one that was my favorite.

Maybe try one with low fat buttermilk and low fat sour cream. I tried a recipe a while back that used these and some garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, pepper and dill. It was really good, thick and creamy.

Will this work if I substitute a non-dairy yogurt like coconut milk yogurt? I am allergic to dairy.

Thank you! I'll check it out. I'm not much of a vinaigrette fan and I love Ranch but it's pretty high in calories and fat. :)

There is one that I like from Bolthouse Farms that is really good. I've gotten it at HyVee in our area.

I'd like to find/create something that tastes like Ranch dressing (my favorite is Ken's) but I'd like it to be low-fat. I'm not a fan of the fat-free or lite Ranch dressings. Is there a yogurt based dressing that might be similar that I could try?
