I make hearty soups and freeze them in 2cup bowls they save me from being in a rut making bad choices. I know I can come home and pop a bowl in the microwave hit the defrost button and have a hearty veggie or bean soup low in sodium and healthy.

I know, having your own freezer meals preportioned is wonderful. The hard thing is not eating all of them before your next cooking day!

My freezer is my friend too! Love to buy in bulk and/or on sale items and break them down into meal portions; repackage and freeze until I need them. I also make my own vegetable broth (a must for tasty/healthy foods in my house); I use carrots, celery, onion, turnips--whatever's sitting in the vegetable crisper--it's OK if they're a little wilted--you're going to boil them anyway. I freeze them in tupperware and pull them out when I want to add flavor to my meal. Sounds like a lot of work, but I find it's a time saver during the week when I can just defrost in the fridge overnight and just grab and cook in the evenings.

If anyone could post on here or on the commentary buttons on the posts (I opened it up so anyone could post anonymously, but if you spam me I will delete it) about what you think of the content, what you'd like to see, recipes you'd like, things I could do to improve, questions, etc, I would really appreciate it. I want to do my best to make it as useful as possible as a supplement to your sparkpeople experience. I'm going to start doing 2 posts a day soon as I begin my cookbook reviews (both e-cookbooks and physical ones, drop me a line and I'll do a review for ya) so let me know what you think about that. Thanks everyone, I hope that one day my blog will become a great tool in your arsenal!

Big batch cooking is something I've been doing for a long time. I have tons of healthy recipes on my blog that are freezable, and it helps save time and money rather than buying freezer meals that are high in garbage chemicals, sodium, and sugars. I love this challenge, talks about everything I've been shouting at people for years! Go Sparkpeople! Check out my blog if you have time, I'll put a link to my freezer recipes section below so you can check out the posts that have them. Good luck with the challenge, I'm here in the trenches with ya! letsdietonabudget.blogspot.com/searc
