it's good to see that you are taking charge and listening to doctor's orders. That is one of the many reasons why I have finally taken control of my life. My chances of becoming diabetic later in life are greater than most. I have a double whammy- one, it runs on both sides f my family and two, it is common with people who have neurological conditions such as epilepsy to develop diabetes too. It is difficult for me to watch my family members who have been diagnosed with it to deny their problems. here are many good recipes that you will find.
I'm new here, found out I have insulin resistance so my doctor and nutrition advisor has clearly stated for the first 2 weeks I must stay away from carbs. Carbs are horrible for me and I understand this, I can eat the most wholesome carbs and still NOT LOOSE A POUND! It's called by another name, syndrome X.
We already cleared out our pantry and got rid of all the junk food like chips, crackers, cereals, bread, pasta, rice, potatoes, corn, beets, and all fruit. I can't have fruit either because of the sugar.
It's going to be a radical change but vegetables and meat I can have PLENTY of, dairy is 1-2 servings a day. I also need to eat about 3 main meals a day and 2 snacks so wish us luck!
